As sibling post said, it just really depends on the location in Europe. Here in Turin (NW Italy), everything is 4G-LTE/5G and they're phasing out 3G completely.
It's not exactly like gas, but it's not not like gas... there's something distinctly petrochemical-like about it and also garlicky, which makes sense since dithiapentane and allicin (the primary component of garlic aroma) are both organosulfur compounds.
Another way to tell if you're being had, I believe only white truffle actually contains dithiapentane or the flavor it mimics. So, if you're eating black truffles and it has that strong, distinctive "truffle oil" gas-garlic flavor, it's definitely added flavoring. The real thing is quite mild but definitely noticeable, especially the white variety. I'm one of those people that can't stand the fake flavoring. Luckily I'm currently living in an Italian truffle region and can get the real thing. As the article suggests, the best way to use real truffle is with a mild dish that can carry but not overwhelm the flavor, e.g. tajarin al tartufo (which I think was actually one of the images in the article).
FWIW I have ADHD and you've described exactly how I work as well. I wish I didn't need to have that pressure in order to get things done -- this work style has definitely been detrimental to my career. Meds do help somewhat but are still far from a complete fix. That's an awesome boss to be able to recognize how you work and maximize your utility. I've yet to have a boss like that. Anyways, good luck out there.
I finally got around to visiting here last spring and it was really interesting. It was beautiful and eerie and a bit dystopian in how everything is abandoned or at least partially abandoned (some buildings are still partially in use). Note that you need to book a tour to go inside any of the buildings, and make sure to choose a day when the tour is in your preferred language. The tour included very detailed explanations of the history and philosophy behind the buildings and the town -- it was also quite long (~4 hrs IIRC). I'd also recommend going into the actual town of Ivrea if you make it out there.
Interesting question. First I'd say veganism isn't a monolith, so opinions will probably differ on the matter. For instance, there is some debate about whether figs are vegan since they are pollinated by fig wasps which then die inside (but are completely absorbed by the fig). I think galls fall into a similar space, but perhaps are less of an issue since they are nominally rid of the insects once they are harvested (though I somehow doubt it can be guaranteed to be completely larvae-free).
Do you have an example? I have experience with both but can't imagine how it's any different when all the traffic patterns are constructed with the appropriate chirality.
It's not a major error -- the words are etymological siblings and it's clear what was meant. Repair translates to something resembling "reparation" in most romance languages so it's an easy translation mistake to make.
It's counterintuitive, but the term "fossil" doesn't always necessitate fossilization. Basically if the specimen is >10,000 yo (roughly the transition from Pleistocene to Holocene) then it can be referred to as a "fossil". This isn't a hard and fast rule, and seems to depend on the specific field/subfield or even US vs UK, etc.
An NPU is a type of ASIC for fast, parallel matrix multiplication. GPUs and FPGAs are much more multi-purpose (and more powerful overall typically) but at the cost of much worse power efficiency.
The starter kit contains the Hailo-8 (26 TOPS), whereas the Pi AI kit contains the Hailo-8L (13 TOPS), so the pricing of the two seems more or less in line with each other at least
This is a really unnecessarily rude way to call out a minor grammar quibble. The sentence was perfectly understandable. Also, whether you like it or not, it is quite common English (at least in the US) these days to use they/them as third person singular. Perhaps we are slowly losing the distinction between singular and plural the same way we lost it for second person. Language changes.
This. Being on equal-or-better footing acts as a deterrent. Same reason countries don't keep all of their warfare technologies secret, e.g. the DoD makes press releases about new technologies and will publish just enough specs for an adversary to figure out that it defeats some advantage they had thought they had.
I also think there is probably not a single cause for either ASD or ADHD -- there is probably both a genetic component and an environmental component involved. At the same time, it's very hard to tease these things apart, especially with whether the microbiome plays a role because that too is significantly hereditary.
It's a bit funny to imagine him as so sophomoric that he really thought this was the optimal game-theoretic strategy, which is true only in the most simplistic scenario.
