That's why a good driver in public is a smooth and predictable one, not one who can just parallel park with 2 cm space in one go every time.
Very cool stuff.
I agree that at times it does seem like a very bad premonition.
The next day, the thing went completely haywire and would rapidly switch between modes without being touched.
Short story short, capacitive buttons suck and putting them on a steering wheel was a terrible decision. And the worst thing is that everybody complained when VW did this years ago. VW then claimed to have listened and promised a change, but kept on using them. For that reason alone I would never consider VW for a future vehicle. Something is pretty messed up there.
I'm not sure what it is about it. On the surface it's a fairly straightforward story but the way the everyday struggles of the times, strong friendship and love are interwoven, is perfect.
Braking is important but steering to avoid something is probably the better option in most cases. It takes some distance to stop a fast traveling, heavy vehicle.
Imagine seeing an accident happen directly in front of you on the highway. You better be able to steer in time cause you sure aren't stopping before hitting anything.
This is also the reason to try and have both hands on the steering wheel all of the time, versus a relaxed one hand at 12 o'clock lounge while doing 70+ mph.
What's the big advantage? Paying attention and anticipating everything is the hardest part of (regular) driving anyway.
This is glorified cruise control but a million times harder to implement.
I have a wandering eye when it comes to cars but I'm sticking with a look but don't touch policy.
At the moment of the Russian invasion, so many countries banded together in supporting Ukraine, both in materiel and moral support. Russia became a pariah overnight. It was an awful situation but it was uplifting to see how we all cared about sovereignty, peace, self-determination and the well-being of civilians.
Then civilians in Gaza started getting slaughtered and... nothing, or worse - full support of it. The exact same freedom-loving world leaders had become mute.
I consider myself more cynical than the average person, but this still caught me off guard. Two horrible situations, two suffering peoples and such different outcomes.
As a father of a young child, it was a gut punch to see what we were suddenly trying to justify and it left me numb for days until I adjusted to the actual reality. The reaction to the Russian invasion had little to do with the welfare of Ukrainians; it was more about political affiliations.
Did it reduce the amount of actual flight hours I needed to get my license? Probably not.
I think it's more help when studying for your IFR.
Slapping a tablet everywhere and letting the code monkeys figure it out is probably cheaper than making various knobs and buttons.
I dread the day I have to get a new car. Even Subaru, who are usually behind the curve, have gone all touch screen.
It's a very delightful stretch of the imagination to put those two in the same sentence.
Your point that some adults aren't responsible parents is valid but it doesn't follow that teenager parents can only be just as irresponsible and not more.
The financial and emotional requirements that come with having a child are very significant and would be a giant weight for someone who has very little life and interpersonal experience.
I believe 3 stars is "I liked it", 4 is "very good" and 5 is "exceptional" or something similar.
Which is exactly what those ratings should mean for everything.
