DMS gets closer than the above link, I think, since it will handle replication onto the target database for you. But, for two fully compatible database engines, it seems like you should be able to make the switch without having to fuss with replication configuration or spinning up a new instance at all.
Or am I allowed to set the source and target databases to be the one and the same?
I figured most customers wouldn't notice to take advantage of this which is why I think a clearer separation between phone payments and cell service payments is a good thing.
So I'm not seeing how this is much different for the customer, except that it's more straightforward to understand the pricing model (buy phone up front vs. paying in monthly installments).
Or Money.new(20, 'USD') == Money.new(125, 'CNY') when ExchangeRateManager.getExchangeRate('CNY', 'USD') == 0.16?
My point is that when performing these comparisons, it may be useful to use a more descriptive function like:
boolean currenciesHaveSameWorth(Money m1, Money m2)
And then a reader of the calling code might not have to look into the implementation to understand what the function is doing, whereas you definitely would when using == because == now means "whatever it's overridden to mean"
Chrome app -> youtube.com (no prompt to install/switch to YouTube app, simply redirects me to m.youtube.com) -> search video -> play (which plays out of chrome and does not switch). The whole process is exactly how I'd hope/expect it to be.
I've exclusively used Youtube through the chrome app instead of the Youtube app because a few years ago I found that the search results were significantly worse/more heavily filtered through the Youtube app for some reason and never used it again.
I don't have a target net worth or age for when I'll call it quits but the way I see it, I'm buying flexibility for the future without sacrificing any happiness today.
1. Since we tested the change on a subset of A for a few weeks, we can assume it will work for all of A.
2. Since we tested the change on a subset of A for a few weeks, we can assume it will work for all of A and all of B.
#1 seems reasonable, but #2 is what needed to hold true in order for there to be no problems, since the change was actually enabled for all of A and B.
But was the engineer actually advocating to enable the change in B, or was that an accident during the manual deployment?
True, but flight software itself goes through very rigorous FAA certification processes. I'd rather have that than be told that the programmers who made the software have Ph.D's!
> Later I found out how to completely turn off the game’s graphics, making the Diablo windows look like black boxes.

Edit: Because this is generating some discussion, I'll clarify that it is not actually my main account which is why I have no friends or photos, but I don't like giving third parties access to my private main account information. The spam detection seems to have worked well on me, I was just pointing out that account age is not the only filter.
I can't figure out if this is a mistake, deception (liquor is not a drug, it just contains one), or implying that "drugs" means "illegal drugs".
For building queries, you drag classes and attributes from the metamodel tree into either the filter tree or the report fields section. The filter tree is a tree of AND's and OR's constructed as you drag attributes into it. Selecting an item in the filter tree then brings up a value editor based on the attribute type that allows you to filter your query based on values that make sense for that type. So if you define your tasks state as enum(unassigned, assigned, started, completed) you get a combo box with those values and options to select in, not in, null, etc.
The report fields section is a list of attributes you want to see in the result set. Basically just a select on that attributes value for the query system. Imagine a todo list created instantly by filtering on tasks with owner == current user and state not in completed, but also wanting to see and sort on the priority, and not showing the owner since you know it's you. The report fields area allows setting of sort order, and ascending or descending.
As you drag attributes into the filter or fields sections, a results pane underneath automatically gets new columns added (for fields added of removed) or new results based on a modified filter tree. After saving a query, users can then register for updates of items that match the query. If any data is changed that affects query results, the updated item or removal is pushed via websocket and that item is updated or removed from the results grid. With this, users never have to refresh the query since all the data is live.
Screenshots are slightly edited and a little out of date, but you get the idea.
