mbrzuzy··on Spotify files for its IPO
Good point.

If Spotify started charging $15 instead of $9.99 I wouldn't care, I would still pay. They are simply the best music streaming service out there IMO.

I payed for Google Music for a bit a while ago and I hated it and switch to Spotify. The experience was awful. I'm also pretty sure that Google Music rips audio from Youtube in certain cases which makes the audio quality terrible.

So much for unbiased journalism. I guess such a thing doesn't really exist anymore.

Even The Guardian labelled it as "anti-diversity".

mbrzuzy··on [dead]
I was talking about this with a friend yesterday, we both came to the conclusion that he had to expect to get fired from releasing this.
mbrzuzy··on [dead]
Why are media outlets calling it an "anti-diversity" memo?
mbrzuzy··on Anonymized list of engineering salaries from bootcamp grads
Thank you for sharing, Mahyarm!
mbrzuzy··on Anonymized list of engineering salaries from bootcamp grads
Was it worth it with the huge increase in cost of living?
mbrzuzy··on I Only Work Remotely
This is problem with flex time. Companies love to advertise flex time, but when you come in at 7am and leave at 3, you get tons of looks and even the odd comment.
mbrzuzy··on Reasons I Won’t Fund You
He mentioned he knows it isn't healthy.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the start up world these days, due to a lot of clashing ego's. But I can respect Jason for telling it straight.

I don't think anything should be "shamed", just because it's not something you agree with. Allow people to operate however they want, it's a free country after all.

mbrzuzy··on Layers – A simple WordPress site builder
"Free Forever" scares me.
mbrzuzy··on P5.js: Processing for today’s web
I don't mean to be that guy, I'm genuinely curious. Is this pretty much the same thing as http://processingjs.org/ ?
mbrzuzy··on Google Cardboard
I wonder what the effects this kind of VR stuff has on the health of your eyes.
mbrzuzy··on Every C99.php shell is backdoored
This is exactly what it's used for.
mbrzuzy··on People hate to register, some follow-up thoughts
This issue has recently come up for me too.

Out of approximately 700 registrations (Specific client, specific event), 4 called in asking where to register. The problem was that those 4 users didn't realize you had to scroll past the fold to find the registration form.

We had to optimize the site (displaying animating indicators) to let that small minority of users know that there is more content past the fold.

In this situation it's hard to argue when you're dealing with a client that sells million dollar homes, because what if one of those 4 users is a potential buyer.

mbrzuzy··on Ask HN: Everyone loves my startup concept, why is no one using it?
Is there a way to allow clients to create annotations on a project without creating an account? Maybe through a private URL?

From poking around I didn't see a way to do that. Without that I wouldn't really use it.

mbrzuzy··on PHỞ: Automated workflow for front-end
I'm a little confused as to what this is exactly.
mbrzuzy··on Facebook acquires Oculus VR
I'm worried this will turn from a gaming oriented device to a general device. A device with a library of apps that require a facebook account to login and use and if you don't pay for some sort of paid version of an app have to deal with ads.

As soon as sony released information about their VR headset I was looking forward more to that one since it will be oriented around gaming.

mbrzuzy··on We're making visual feedback simpler.
Looks like it's similar to, if not the same as www.designdrop.io.
mbrzuzy··on So someone "stole" your idea
A big part of the success of a project is the marketing and the names behind it. Someone linked me to Jelly a few days ago and I brushed it off not thinking it was that great of an idea. Then today I saw a post title "Twitter Co-Founder Biz Stone Explains The Surprising Goal Of His New Company" and thought, "oh Twitter Co-Founder? Maybe I should take a second look at this app".
mbrzuzy··on The Depressing Day After You Get TechCrunched
Was getting on TechCrunch seriously their only marketing strategy?

That shouldn't even be a part of your marketing strategy.

mbrzuzy··on We bring 3D to the web
Verold I think is another company doing something similar.
mbrzuzy··on Just say "No" [to Yahoo Axis]
I think what irritates me most about Axis is that they had to slap their obnoxious "Yahoo!" logo on it. It just irks me whenever I see it. The way the text is slinky link makes me think of children's toys.
mbrzuzy··on Notch live coding 0x10c
Looks like he is listening to di.fm electro house channel.

I just happened to turn that on and noticed it's the same songs.

mbrzuzy··on [dead]
And so begin the Codecademy clones.
mbrzuzy··on We Can Do Better: An Apology from Sqoot
What is the big deal. People get way to offended this day in age. It's almost as if people are waiting for someone to say something offensive just so they can jump on it acting all high and mighty.
mbrzuzy··on You don't need a logo, you need a type face. This is the best way to find one.
Does it only give you one logo? Or can you hit arrow keys to cycle through different versions without having to submit the textbox again?
mbrzuzy··on Remove Finder from the Application Switcher in Mac OSX
Anyone else have the finder still on the dock as a shortcut and unable to drag off?
mbrzuzy··on Show HN: Favicon alert bubbles
I was just the other day thinking of whether something like this exists, and this library is very aesthetically pleasing indeed.
mbrzuzy··on How our tribute to “The Hacker Way” pissed off a Facebook designer
Am I missing something here? Are they mad that they use their tag line, "Stay focused & keep shipping"? Because the design of the actual poster is different.
mbrzuzy··on Leaked Zynga Memo Justifies Copycat Strategy
Yea you're right. Here is an article I found regarding it.

http://venturebeat.com/2011/06/16/zynga-sues-brazilian-copyc...

I have no words for Zynga's hypocrisy.

mbrzuzy··on Leaked Zynga Memo Justifies Copycat Strategy
Didn't Zynga sue some chinese game that was basically a copy of farmville? And here they are saying there is nothing wrong with copying...
