thisisblurry··on Nova by Panic
> Well, Atom is no longer supported, so I'm going to have to switch to something anyway.

Is there an official source or announcement for this? I've noticed that recent release notes and changelogs have become much less substantial, but I've yet to see anything indicating that it's approaching EOL.

thisisblurry··on The State of JavaScript – Survey results
I agree; it looks really nice!

Minor nit: would you be open to using colorblind friendly color choices in the future? The current colors are pretty hard for me to differentiate between.

While I agree that it is slightly jarring to use, there are "Permalink" buttons beneath each section.
thisisblurry··on Show HN: Typedetail.com – featuring Apple's new typeface San Francisco
Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but could someone explain why a handful of letters (G, J, K, M, etc.) have emphasis?
thisisblurry··on JavaScript Equality Table
This reminds me of Miłosz Kośmider's "Zeros in JavaScript" comparison table: http://zero.milosz.ca/

Essentially the same thing, but covers a few more operations.

Alternatively, the full domain could be displayed instead of just the root domain, so (itunes.apple.com) would be displayed instead of (apple.com). This appears to be the case for some domains, like Tumblr and Blogspot, but not others.

thisisblurry··on How I work with Postgres – psql, My PostgreSQL Admin
Matt Thompson (https://github.com/mattt), also from Heroku created Induction (http://inductionapp.com/) to handle this sort of database administration around a year ago, but it seems like he's become pretty busy with other projects at the moment. I hope that he's able to pick up progress on it again as it really had a lot of promise behind it.

If you don't want to use Zoompf (even if they don't follow their own advice), you should take a look at Steve Souders' blog for web performance: http://www.stevesouders.com/blog/

He literally wrote the book on it.

thisisblurry··on UberTAXI is arriving in San Francisco
If it is in fact what you'd normally tip, why would you let this prevent you from using the service? Unless you have an extremely bad experience (which I'm pretty sure you can report) - why let it be the one thing to stop you?

Minor nitpick: the keyboard toggle button looks more like a calculator and does nothing for the 'Auto' option (maybe it should be hidden until one of the other layouts is selected?)

thisisblurry··on Lightning captured at 7,207 images per second
Nope, you can go sans filter. It's actually the first option - you have to scroll past it to get to the modifying filters. You can see it in step 2 here: http://help.instagram.com/customer/portal/articles/168150-ta...
thisisblurry··on Lightning captured at 7,207 images per second
To be fair, that image wouldn't exist (nor would we be having this discussion) otherwise as it wouldn't have been published to Instagram. I can't comment in regards to the photographer's filter preference though...
thisisblurry··on Lightning captured at 7,207 images per second
Any reason in particular for that? Seems a bit harsh.
