That's fine, but no one is obligated to spend time with them. They need to be more convincing or charismatic then to get people to spend more time with them. "If you don't endure a commute to spend time with me, I won't be happy" won't cut it.
One thing I'd note is I think people are over-estimating how quickly the price will come down, especially if the initial demand is strong. I don't think there will be a version of Vision Pro (or Vision Air?) that is $2k or less for at least another few years. Maybe the 2nd gen of Vision Pro will come down in price by a few hundred dollars, but again maybe not if the demand is strong even at $3,500.
Isn't that the sign of a good economy then?
We obviously could still have a recession in the future but (a) we're not in one right now and (b) the economy has done much, much better than people were expecting this time last year.
Personally, I wouldn't even interview with a company that was hybrid, even if that's unfortunately becoming more and more common.
These studies never make sense because there's no way to objectively measure happiness, especially not in a way where you can compare two people's self-reported levels of "happiness". The word happiness itself is already is an over-loaded term that everyone has their own definition of. (At best you can measure proxy outcomes like measuring health based on relationships, but there are so many confounding variables it's hard to narrow it down.)
