teitoklien··on GPT-Synopsys: Frontier Intelligence to Revolutionize Chip Design
AI didn’t make chip manufacturing more expensive

Manufacturers choosing not to scale with demand or not being able to scale with demand

Is what constrained the supply.

Hopefully will be fixed within a decade , then it’s cool new stuff all the way.

since when did everyone, ditch personal responsibility to the drain ? I understand that social media platforms are hardcore unethical with the way they prioritize screentime and addiction

Over our wellbeing even at the cost of knowingly decreasing our attention spans with all the Shorts / Tiktok Algorithms.

But we must also take personal responsibility, it costed me $2 (/year) to buy a screen time addiction removal app that works for my iPhone, iPad and even my linux machine with firefox browser, and to lock down every damn social media app in both intervention and absolute blocking ways, and it worked great !

I moved from a screen time addiction of 9h / day to just using my phone in total for 2h out of which most of that is Phone Calls, Apple Music, and Booking Ubers. I was able to set free, and my life was better for it, because of my personal responsibility towards my own life.

It doesnt cost much / almost nothing, to reclaim your life back, there will always be people / organizations trying to screw you over, they have always existed since time millenium , be it corrupt empires, cults and anti-social religions, horrible food, bad peer pressure in school leading to poor influence, bad habits picked up from parents/elders in a kid's life.

The only consistent way that humans have been able to survive, thrive and personally excel in their own lives, against all odds of their society, family, and their sorroundings.

Is PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. I sometimes feel many of us have given up on any outlook of fixing ourselves, i see it with my friends and my loved ones too, we have to make personal responsibility, popular again, if we want a better future.

Thanks a ton for building this.

teitoklien··on Linux 7.2
... look into earlyoom , its a pretty neat solution just prescribe to it, all the stuff to never oom no matter what I've never had to hard reboot anymore due to OOM

After setting up earlyoom to gracefully start shutting stuff down at a threshold before hitting oom, robustly works all the time even under intense ram + swap pressure + 100% cpu on all cores sorta workload

Best of luck Samantha with Suzanne !

Saw the launch video now,

May God bless You and Yehor both.

teitoklien··on Suzanne: AI tool for designing and manufacturing physical products
? this is one of the Coolest Posts ive seen on HN .

Imagine being able to prompt out products in the future, and making this available to kids in every school, just like how a lot of schools make 3D printers with Template Models available to print out and combine or lego kits.

This is AMAZING, im not saying these founders might succeed in envisioning that future, but this industry has been assembling all the instruments to speed up the iteration feedback loop as much as possible since last few years :: All the more and more advanced All in One CAD machines for homes, like

- Bambulabs Laser Engraving + 3D Printer combo (with more advanced materials now, Car Workshops are literally 3dprinting super sturdy car parts with the latest bambulabs filaments [0])

- Home CNC machines like Carvera : https://youtu.be/7Zs1ZtcPRHY?si=eDvZ4bhlySQqDUbE

- UV Printers like Eufy : https://youtu.be/3IBMjZDMdcc?si=lZfKVsSqutT1KyUu

- Auto Probing tools for giving AI oscilloscope and pin readouts automatically :: https://github.com/gainsec/autoprober

- Embedded Systems tools like https://www.axiometa.io , Claude Code integrations for Espressif/Atmega/STM boards , trying to make the embedded systems layer easier

This is just yet another glimpse into where this industry is going, This is the perfect sorta post for HN and People who aspire to Build Startups and Join YC Batch.

And exactly why this is way better than any producthunt out there. I dont think this sorta negativity is necessary. If anything HN has recently been getting too many naysayers, pessimistic folks, compared to the imaginative, techno optimist folks from before.

teitoklien··on Claude: Elevated errors across all models – Resolved
why ? I literally have voice agents via claude agent sdk + Pipecat , who i talk to the entire day whenever it suddenly handwaves at me with an indicator that it wants to talk to me, and it orchestrates and manages typically 6-7 git worktrees in parallel of my monorepo + coding and other non-coding work.

Every. Single. Day. and reliably and robustly, to get cool stuff done. Why does it sound satire to you ? I was never joking, im dead serious, even right now. Its hard to explain how amazing the UX compared to normal coding before.

I used to be a hardcore custom tuned Neovim setup, and do everything myself sorta person before.

teitoklien··on Claude: Elevated errors across all models – Resolved
I do the same with deepseek-v4-flash + opencode triggering via mcp those terminals again by sending tmux keystrokes of Newline to those sessions and a custom setup i keep ready for these

Its automated with voice mode, so i dont even need to write commands, click a button say on voice + use a picker to select which terminals to do this for , Boom Done ,

I use it for other interesting scenarios too

teitoklien··on AI coders are carrying half-open laptops through airports, offices, ice rinks
No, Cant Stop. Wont Stop.
teitoklien··on AI coders are carrying half-open laptops through airports, offices, ice rinks
I literally have a custom built command

lid-toggle on lid-toggle off lid-toggle toggle

that allows me to switch the behaviour for laptop lid close , to behave the way i want it to,

So i can close my laptop, keep it in my bag, with my headphones on and talk to claude code while its coding stuff , albeit it runs a bit warm inside my bag, but it works just fine.

I run a custom setup on linux to make it all happen

Why would someone risk breaking their laptop by keeping it half open like this , instead of just quickly building a toggle to change the suspend on lid close behaviour ?

ovh rocks, they are also far more customer support friendly than hetzner. Half the time hetzner feels like they are doing you a favor by letting you rent servers from them.

Ovh is way simpler, and openstack integration from them works good enough for most of my needs.

Kinda insane how atrocious docs are tho. No .md markdown format to let agents read stuff yet -_-

teitoklien··on Claude Code On-the-Go
I use the same setup myself, download WisprFlow for IOS and over time just add to its dictionary the unusual words you often use during development

works perfectly, i just say what i want coded, press enter, and Claude Code just does it in my server over Termius app

teitoklien··on Show HN: Ez FFmpeg – Video editing in plain English
i figure out the niche ffmpeg commands various chain filters, etc then expose them from my python cli tool with words similar to what this gentleman above has done.

If one has fewer such commands its as simple as just bash aliases and just adding it to ~/.bashrc

alias convertmkvtomp4='ffmpeg command'

then just run it anytime with just that alias phrase i use ffmpeg a lot so i have my own dedicated cli snippet tool for me, to quickly build out complex pipeline in easier language

the best part is i have --dry-run then exposes the flow + explicit commands being used at each step, if i need details on whats happening and verbose output at each step

teitoklien··on iPhone/iPad/Android Notifications for ClaudeCode
Built out this service you can just copy three bash/python files and the .claude/settings.json to your different repos and just plug them to turn on in background by just one command, and then ask Claude Code to do something, close your terminal on phone and roam about grab coffee, chit chat, come back once it notifies for input or anything

Im using it with WisprFlow on my phone, to do marketing tasks on side, while coding or just do marketing tasks and research on my way to work in my cab stuck in peak traffic, and then once im at office i can just focus on coding.

teitoklien··on Azure hit by 15 Tbps DDoS attack using 500k IP addresses

teitoklien··on ChatGPT terms disallow its use in providing legal and medical advice to others
> I'd say the same about AI.

And you’d be right, so society should let people use AI while warning them about all the risks related to it, without banning it or hiding it behind 10,000 lawsuits and making it disappear by coercion.

teitoklien··on ChatGPT terms disallow its use in providing legal and medical advice to others
Experience working with doctors a few times, and then we’ll see all the bias if one is still surviving lol. Doctors are some of the most corrupt professions who are more focused on selling drugs they get paid commission for to promote, or they obsess over tons and tons of expensive medical tests, that they themselves often know is not needed, except they ask for it, simply out of fear of courts suing them for negligence in future or because again , THEY GET A COMMISSION from the testing agencies for sending them clients.

And even with all of that info, they often come out with the wrong conclusions at times. Doctors do a critically important role in our society and during covid they risked their lives for us, more than anyone else, i do not want to insult or bring down the amount of hard work doctors do for their society.

But worshipping them as holier than thou gods is bullshit, that almost anyone who has spent some time with going back and forth with various doctors over the course of years will come to the conclusion of.

Having an AI assistant doesnt hurt, in terms of medical hints, we need to make having Personal Responsibility popular again, in society’s obsession for making every thing “idiot proof” or “baby proof” we keep losing all sorts of useful and interesting solutions because our politicians have a strong itch to regulate anything and everything they can get their hands on, to leave a mark on society.

teitoklien··on They Don't Have the Money: OpenAI Edition
I know it’s controversial i know sometimes it’s inaccurate i honestly don’t care anymore i just don’t want the outrage inducing news content / videos / etc.

News is no longer the same everything is structured to maximize clicks , reactions, etc. Most news is misinformation or ideologically slanted anyways i just ask it to curate from feeds im interested in now, ive shifted to it only a few weeks ago, honestly its not as bad as people here are commenting it out to be.

i get it sounds dystopian but so does what i used to do previously. I dont need to know everything about everything, business & tech news i still read and watch myself as it tends to be fairly pleasant and inviting.

For me this is how the cons compare:

- Occasional inaccuracy from AI summaries < constant psychological damage from outrage algorithms

- Missing some nuance < being manipulated into anger and anxiety daily

- Imperfect information filtering > perfect exposure to toxic information delivery

I didn’t want to make this change i had to for my mental health sorry. Chatgpt can hallucinate a ton , claude is way more accurate and fair , i experiment with both.

teitoklien··on They Don't Have the Money: OpenAI Edition
Same here, Youtube and Social Media algorithms driven by outrage to boost statistics, has made it unbearable for me to watch news or read it online, everything is framed and created with maximum outrage in mind.

I added a DNS level blocker on all news app and restricted youtube itself to stop myself from watching news no matter what, and I only use chatgpt advanced voice mode now and sometimes perplexity pro to get my news for the day, and ask questions, around news, I stopped reading everything news related outside of purely business and tech related articles curated and sent to me via either my rss feeds, or via newsletter, nothing else.

It feels amazing to get briefed on the days news by ChatGPT, i intuitively ask it stuff around what my interests are and nothing else.
