Both were pretty entry level positions.
It sounds like they built Marvin from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
EDIT: formatting
This has been true with most sports or competition based activities that I have done too. There's nothing quite like the nerves you get just before a match starts
EDIT: parentheses content.
Come to think of it, of all the people I know with a new iPhone, exactly 0 of them have their cards imported to apple pay. I've also never witnessed anyone else using it at a store. From my memory, whenever I'd try and use these systmems, the store clerks would always say "it's the coolest thing they've seen" (aside from speedpass, since I was alone at the pump). However, they seemed to take more time than to just swipe my card and be done with it. Maybe that's why?
Edit: Also in my area (south florida), outside of major retailers the support for these is atrocious. Most places only have the small telephone line based readers to print and sign.
I do both front and back-end development (usually back-end heavy web applications) and am looking for a new gig in LA after recently relocating.
The big American league now is the Paintball Sports Promotion (PSP) league, the flagship being 5v5 Race-To-7 format. Think very fast paced games and the first one to win 7 times wins the match.
I believe that the NPPL is taking a hiatus for a year, if they come back at all, they've barely been able to stay afloat for a while now. From what I've heard it's been due to poor financial decision making on the leagues behalf.
As far as the markers go, most of them are now based off of the Matrix or Intimidator designs from your link, with a couple using the Hollowpoint design (at least in the tournament series). They've also begun limiting the Rate of Fire in the PSP, being 10.2 shots per second in the professional divisions to remove any advantages of higher prices markers.
All in all its still a pretty cool sport. I've met tons of great people through it, and many life-long friends. Hopefully it gets back to where it used to be in the early 00's, it's definitely been growing the last few years after the hit it took around 2008.
I use Snapchat for both very close friends and acquaintances too, I can send both inside jokes or just a simple hello to someone I haven't spoken to in a while. I don't feel an obligation to respond to snapchats and don't feel ignored when someone doesn't respond to mine, how I would via text, or facebook messenger.
I personally never use facebook messenger. I've had it turned off for a couple of years now and only use it on the rare occasion that a friend changed phone numbers (friends moving abroad mostly) and even that is just to get their new number so I can use whatsapp or text messaging. As for whatsapp I strictly use it for large, on going, group messages or friends in other countries. But I guess everyone has their own use-cases.
You still gain all of the experience of having helped start a company. you gained SOME monetary compensation. In the end, one person made the better decision (whether or not they knew it), and is being rewarded as such.
