Google called annually for 10 years after I interviewed there, asking if I was still interested in employment. I always said yes and they kept calling every year until I demanded to know what the purpose of the calls was.
I was always the hardest worker in my class, but never found a job because companies said I would want to be paid too much, meanwhile I told them my salary requirements were zero because I was homeless. Was that satire?
When I was arrested the cop took the money out of my wallet and asked if I knew he could just take it, he didn't seem to concerned about "verification of ownership or any other exonerating circumstances" such as I just took the money out of an ATM. You have to wonder what fantasy world you people are living in.
Used to be you would click on a URL and the page would load immediately, now there's a half a second wait so you can be tracked before they feed you the page. It's very noticeable.
Amazon will also do something where certain drugs will be the top of searches for other drugs or sometimes for example drugs for cats will show up even if you search "for dogs" so if you aren't paying complete attention you might not realize your mistake.
I worked for a startup company where they stopped paying employees, management quit and offered to buy the company, owner refused, then everyone else quit. Like most stories like this it's a company you've never heard of and everyone moved on.
