Some cpus have general purpose IO pins. You could connect wires to those and send whatever signal you want.

It seems theoretically possible for signal to not know the original sender nor the final recipient e.g. if they use their central servers as a tor middleman (I forget the real node type name)

I would pay that much for a programmable automated refactoring tool that actually worked on real code bases (I suspect some ppl would pay even more)

Tla also introduces a new type of bug: differences between your tla model and your program. And I found that in order to get tla to reason about large programs, you had to express the model in ways that look very different from the program.

This issue alone is enough to dissuade me from using tla.

So much of software engineering is mechanical. Those parts could definitely be automated. To some extent, software engineering is the process of constantly automating things. Each function, in a way, automates

I’m hopeful that this will cut the friction of buying or selling. Spending so much on brokers, taxes, and the various fees is out of hand.

I wish I were more sympathetic. But this generation:

- had cheap housing for years

- lived through a strong American economy

- had relatively cheap access to education

- had a cheaper tax burden

- many of them have pensions that are paid for by today’s workers

- spent most of their lives polluting the earth and not putting money aside for the cleanup

Aside, I think a big battery in Australia makes a lot of sense because they have lots of sun year round and lots of unused space. So you are pretty much just storing for night time and can easily build solar panels.

In many other places, you have to store for much longer term which means you need much bigger batteries (and bigger generating plants).

This is to say I think the cost in a place like Australia may be 100s of times less than places in most of the USA (which is where I live).

I think what you really want is a jit compiler that decides what to evaluate on a case by case basis. Julia has nearly all the inputs it needs to do this well… it just doesn’t

This may be true for devs, but I think safari is great for users. The main feature I love is the minimalist UI.
