mneumegen··on JekyllConf – The free, online conference for all things Jekyll
We're really looking forward to your talk! Can't wait :)
mneumegen··on Show HN: Turn Dropbox in a CMS
Thanks for the feedback. I agree Jekyll's awesome. At the moment Cloud Cannon works with the output of a Jekyll site (Since it's just normal HTML, CSS and Js) but that's as far as the integration goes.

I can see the power of having full Jekyll integration (Being able to add new posts, client's edits being saved back into the Jekyll templates etc). It's definitely something I'll be looking into.

mneumegen··on Ask HN: Please review our product Konotor
One question your site didn't answer for me: What's involved in actually setting this up?
mneumegen··on Share your early stage startup
The majority a CMS's are overkill for a simple website, Cloud Cannon turns Dropbox into a CMS you can setup in seconds. We launched a week ago - http://cloudcannon.com.

Any feedback is welcome.
mneumegen··on Show HN: My first SaaS venture. Feedback welcome
Thanks for the feedback we'll take in into consideration. Our goal is to make a designer's life easier so causing a heart attack is the last thing we'd want :-).
mneumegen··on Show HN: My first SaaS venture. Feedback welcome
Thanks for pointing that out. We've fixed it now.
mneumegen··on Show HN: My first SaaS venture. Feedback welcome
I think the trend is driven by testing and user analytics. If a cluttered design with lots of animated gifs converted best you would probably see a trend in that direction.

Bought. Nice job, looks really interesting.
mneumegen··on Ask HN: Which programming language are the easiest to debug?
I'd say most of the time the higher level the language the easier it would be to debug. For example, I can open a file, write to it and close it in three lines of ruby. Doing this properly in C would take at least 8 lines. Less code is one way of making software easier to debug.
mneumegen··on Show/ask HN: I'm thinking about making a feed reader. Should I continue?
I like the idea of a minimalist, stripped back version of Google Reader, however, I think you'll struggle to get $20/year out of people with the amount of quality RSS readers you can get for free. Find an audience before you start building this thing and build it based on feedback of what they liked/disliked about Google Reader and the other RSS readers out there.
mneumegen··on Ask HN: Where would I go to learn about automatic printing?
Something like http://www.peecho.com/ or http://www.fotomoto.com/ might be a good fit.
mneumegen··on Getting started with UX, where to begin?
Read "Don't make me think" by Steve Krug. It will give you a great foundation to build on.

mneumegen··on Ask HN: Value of a master's degree in CS?
I know a few companies where having a master's degree would count against you over a graduate. It really depends on the job but I'd say it most situations 1/2 years experience is better than a masters degree.
mneumegen··on Show HN: MonsterLumen helps you brainstorm business problems
I like the idea although it definitely needs a bit more work. I used the nudge a few times out of curiosity a got a question that I wasn't interested in answering but there was no way of exiting the dialog. I think a bit more instruction on what is happening and an indication of how far through the process I am would have been helpful.

If you're planning to charge people for the service you might want to have a think about who your target market is and how you will make money. I see MonsterLumen as an educational tool that teaches you skills and techniques to think outside the box, once I've got those skills I don't need your app anymore so just consider that when you're coming up with pricing.

mneumegen··on Best dashboard apps for startups?
I haven't used it but http://www.geckoboard.com looks good.
mneumegen··on Trello for iPad is Here
If you have that many tasks you probably want to use something like Fogbugz. What I like about Trello is it forces you to keep you task lists relatively short (The way I think it should be).
mneumegen··on Trello for iPad is Here
Perfect! You guys really nailed this one.
mneumegen··on Ask HN: What should be on the landing page of a new product?
The key is to understand your users. If you're making a CRM aimed at businesses, they will already get the concept of a CRM so you just need to convey how yours is better. If you're making a ground breaking piece of software in a new field you're going to have to educate your users on how it solves their problems.
mneumegen··on Ask HN: What are some inspirational biographies/memoirs?
I found the Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson deeply inspiring.
mneumegen··on Ask HN: What do you think of my new startup's landing page? shopulse.com
The first thing that popped into my mind is how is this different to shopify? What's your point of difference?
mneumegen··on Show HN: Random midnight sunday request: critique our staging site
Awesome! Sounds like you're on the right track.
mneumegen··on Made a Landing Page for My App
Oh it wasn't Chrome is was my screen size. Make sure it works on lower resolutions. The video overlapped the content.
mneumegen··on Made a Landing Page for My App
It's pretty broken in Chrome
mneumegen··on Show HN: Random midnight sunday request: critique our staging site
I think you need to work on your content a bit. You main title is your best chance of drawing someone in. At the moment it's "Web app platform". Try A/B test it with something a little more exciting and add benefit of the platform i.e. why would I use this over Heroku?
mneumegen··on Ask HN: What tools do you use for your start-up?
I've found http://newrelic.com to be fairly indispensable.
mneumegen··on Ask HN: How would you go about promoting a backpack company?
Get an audience. How do you do that? Provide something of value to your target market. I.e. Video series on bicycle maintenance, list of bike tracks around the area etc.
