Slightly off topic: I went to download this and it said I needed iOS17. Out of pure curiosity what from iOS17 does it need? Apologies if it’s mentioned in the article, I just skipped ahead to final product.

Meh.. I could but I have to tolerate them on TV anyway. I may look to install pi-hole one day.

This is interesting as I had noticed this happening to me (in Chrome) when the anti-ad-blocking started. I assumed that it was YT's way of "annoying" me still while no ads were shown... It was eventually replaced with the "You cant use Adblockers modal" and now I just tolerate the ads.

So I wonder if that 5s delay has always been there.

Pom Pom and Strong Bad are totally going out!

Not sure if related or not but I literally just an email informing me that Hive will remove their IFTT integration next month…

I had a friend called Harry Potter who had a fun time trying to sign up to Facebook back in the day!

You forgot the /s

I haven’t even considered using AI to “help” me code! Is this really that widespread in dev land? Surely not.

I am very disappointed in myself and in their trade in offer. I made the switch from Android to iOS after 15 years or so of being an Android die hard in July, with the intention of considering the 15 as a trade in. They offered me £635 for a 14 Pro Max 256. Less than half what I paid 2 months ago.

> As I've mentioned before, I'm writing a high performance metaverse client.

Why? (Serious question)

So if someone came up to you in at a party or any other social environment and said "Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo" and then walked off, your interest wouldn't be piqued?

I just Googled it... looks like it was released in 2021 for select countries. Still not available in UK. £7 seems like a reasonable amount and I would 100% pay that. £12 is just too much.

Convenience and discoverability?

Interesting. I imagine they had to remove it - you just wouldn't know if there was any truth to it and could put the guy in the public eye incorrectly.

Lol, when playing Colonist, I've noticed a few players offer trades for X "non-blocks" or a port etc, and even future resources.

I just tried this and was blown away. Maybe I should start giving this ChatGPT some attention...

More like educate them about the issues of tobacco and booze.

Cool! Would be nice if you could permalink to specific photos.

Can you elaborate? I have this problem every day.. macOS just seems incapable of remembering my display arrangement.

I'm 36, no kids, yet, and still like to "party" most weekends. My partner and I are quite lucky in that we have a decent amount of friends and family we see regularly. Half of them with kids, half not. Most of the parents do not get to party much since they've had the kids but one couple, we'll call them Alice and Bob, haven't let their child affect their partying at all really. Regular house parties and gigs, late nights, loud music at home and the kid just sleeps through it. Having a couple of good baby sitters and frankly bringing the child up knowing all their friends and joining in has made it very easy for them. I hope if/when we do have kids of our own, we'll be like Alice and Bob.

I have been a pescatarian (eat fish, no meat) since 2018. For me, this has almost nothing todo with being healthy and all about the animal welfare (yes I eat fish but to me, a fish and a pig are two very different things). But, sometimes I just fancy a McDonalds Big Mac (McPlant), or chili nachos (Quorn, Meatless Farm) , or a dirty burger (Impossible, Beyond). I know its not healthy, I know its not good for me but it just satisfy my meat eating days craving every now and then. The rest of the time I eat delicious unprocessed veggies, rice, beans etc.

There is a place for these meat substitutes but should they be eaten all of the time; no. Education around veggies is the key for solving the meat production issues.

This. Have been doing this for years as whilst it's been very handy to prevent password leakage etc, it's also very interesting to see where my spam comes from; facebook@ is the biggest culprit.

Mbappe will get at least 2 more. If Messi wasn't in the Argentina team this year he'd have got his second. He's 23.

Fun game. Let's see if I keep coming back like wordle and quordle.

Starting learning Rust and The Book is great.

To play devils advocate, is this not just an exercise to remove stale accounts? It looks like everyone who received the email does not have a payment method on their account so it seems more like "If you don't add a payment method to your account we'll be closing it?"

No?
