kytmizuno··on Muse – Meta’s personal AI agent
* Lodging complaints with customer service

* Filling out tedious PDF paperwork with the same personal information over and over again

* Having it proactively scan my calendar to give me a heads up on potential traffic issues (like making plans and forgetting that a marathon was being held and running into detour after detour after detour).

kytmizuno··on Yann LeCun to depart Meta and launch AI startup focused on 'world models'
LeCun was hired in 2013. It's been 12 years. How much longer does he need?
kytmizuno··on Oculus Rift: Available for pre-order
I wouldn't be so quick to toss the headphones.

One of the reasons I think Oculus went with an onboard DAC is to precisely sync audio, visuals, and head tracking. Using a non-Oculus audio pipeline could introduce unpredictable timing and a worse experience.

kytmizuno··on Facebook completes construction of first full-scale aircraft, Aquila [video]
According to the project lead:

"Maguire told Quartz that the company intends to provide “the full internet,” but also noted that it will work with network operators’ bandwidth needs and business models."

kytmizuno··on Introducing Anonymous Login and an Updated Facebook Login
I would hope this goes towards the iOS permission model. You would almost always login anonymously. Then pieces of information are requested on demand when a user takes action that specifically needs that information.
kytmizuno··on Introducing Anonymous Login and an Updated Facebook Login
izzydata isn't just saying that he doesn't want a big car. He's saying that there's no point in buying a big car no matter what: "If you use facebook login for your site then you are shooting yourself in the foot if you care about users."
kytmizuno··on Facebook earnings gain as ad sales surge 82%; CFO is stepping down
That's untrue. Facebook pages are accessible even when you're not logged in. This loads perfectly fine from an incognito tab: https://www.facebook.com/sears
kytmizuno··on Facebook launches Nearby Friends
Some of my best friends have moved to different parts of the country. And because of the distance, we simply talk less. But whenever we do meet up, it's like they never left.

Just because I don't talk to someone on a weekly basis doesn't mean I wouldn't want to meet up if it were convenient.

kytmizuno··on Facebook self-censorship: What happens to the posts you don’t publish?
But there's lots of things people and companies _could_ do, they just don't do it currently.
kytmizuno··on The Internet Just Made Microsoft Kill a Car for a Faster Horse
I think the problem happens when Person A buys a game disc and lends a digital copy to Person B. Person A then disconnects from the Internet and plays using the game disc and Person B plays with the 24H online check in. Now you have two people playing the same game at the same time with only one copy of the game bought.
kytmizuno··on Microsoft reverses controversial game licensing policies
But now you have Person A and Person B playing the game at the same time with only 1 purchase of the game.
kytmizuno··on Introducing Outlook.com - Modern Email for the Next Billion Mailboxes
You might have already verified your Gmail when you first signed up for the Microsoft account.
kytmizuno··on Craigslist Suing Padmapper
From what I've read, only the actual copyright holder has the right to sue others for copyright infringement. See the Righthaven case from last year.

kytmizuno··on Craigslist Suing Padmapper
Does craigslist actually own the copyrights to user generate text and images?
kytmizuno··on Windows 8 Release Preview ready for download
If you don't use the application often, then you're probably not hunting for it in the Start Menu often and thus not going to be wasting your time in the new Start Screen often. For the very few times you do need to find the application, I'm sure the Start Screen will make whatever you're looking for discoverable.
kytmizuno··on GPS ruling is "hard" on the FBI—and that's a feature, not a bug
They could be throwing out all previously collected data and now just using new data collected after the warrant was obtained. As far as I know, the FBI takes pretty seriously collecting evidence outside the scope of warrants.
kytmizuno··on Apple Announces Plans to Initiate Dividend and Share Repurchase Program
I think spectrum is quite a bit more expensive than that. Qualcomm recently sold a spectrum block to ATT for nearly $2 billion. Granted it was probably a more desirable block (lower 700 Mhz) than most others.
kytmizuno··on Announcing MapBox Streets: A Global Map with Street Level Detail
It seems that you can't zoom in as far as Google Maps?
kytmizuno··on Harvard, Princeton Targeted in Asian Discrimination Probe
Don't throw out vast generalizations without data to support it.
