jtylr··on Google is making AI in Gmail and Docs free, but raising the price of Workspace
I've got the old legacy edition - From memory I took it up to 97 and then panicked and moved things away so email wouldn't bounce. Will try again and leave it a little longer this time. Cheers!

Any idea what sort of margin ballpark we're looking at? With a combination of email and Google Photos I got up to around 97% used a year ago and just had to move older photos elsewhere - would be good to test again if an increase will be given.
jtylr··on Is Wordpress.org GDPR Compliant?
There doesn't need to be a self-service mechanism, you just need to be able to ask. Skimming the privacy policy indicates you should be able to email `privacy@ycombinator.com` with your request.

It's possible you may just have to enable TPM in bios. It's one of the install requirements.

jtylr··on Microsoft and Nvidia Announce Expansive New Gaming Deal
There are already mods like ConsolePort which allow you to map abilities and actions to certain button combinations. Certainly not straight forward, but it's allowed for playing WoW on the steam deck, for instance.

Seeing lots of errors on gcloud currently. Certainly an uptick here too: https://downdetector.co.uk/status/google-cloud/

Just to clarify, Sergei Skripal is still alive, the assassination failed but instead did kill an unrelated woman later named Dawn Sturgess.

jtylr··on The Facebook phone numbers are now searchable in Have I Been Pwned
Despite using 2FA and listing my number on my profile - albeit restricted to "just me", I don't appear in the data. It's not as simple as they just having a record of it somewhere.
jtylr··on An update on the recent issues surrounding a Reddit employee
I just wonder why nobody thought to Google her name between the 9th March (when "extra protections" were first put in place) and now.

Try giving https://i.reddit.com/ a try - it's an ancient ipod layout but it seems to do the basic stuff.
jtylr··on Stopping phishing campaigns with Bash
The end of a bash script or a line?

If it's at the end of the line it's just signifying that the line continues underneath and to run that block as "one line". It's just escaping the newline character.

jtylr··on Valve and HackerOne: how not to handle vulnerability reports
Only anecdotal, I once tried to report a persistent XSS issue on the game "hub" pages. After weeks of going back and forth with support (this was before the likes of hackerone) the ticket was closed and the issue was ignored.

What were your issues with the Nokia? I've had mine sitting around for several months now with a broken charging port, a persistent smudge down the left side of the screen and it likes to restart when fast charging.

Other than that, it was a great budget phone. For now, I'm using the Motorola One Vision and have found it to be great for the price too.

Reply I've just received, can't fault them for responding to this so quick, even if the initial response was to say nothing could be done.
