Here's a discussion of cryptography that has 0 occurrences of "ring" (for example): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptography
> Mathematical Background
> Before we tackle cryptography we need to cover some basic facts from mathematics.
Nit: we really don't. This reminds me of how dry and uninspired the cryptography and cryptology (less so) classes I took almost 20 years ago were.
Can you explain what that is?
> To understand this requires understanding markets very deeply
Apparently you aren't the only person on this forum who does. Are we just supposed to take your word for it?
I agree that for most games, the difference in installs between free and not-free is many orders of magnitude.
How many concurrent players did you have on steam? This seems low unless the only monetization you're thinking of is a purchase price.
I'm skeptical but would be happy to be proven wrong. What are some games you've made that satisfy:
1. Made and published in one sitting
2. Have legally sourced assets and code
3. Have people who don't know you personally that have indicated enjoyment of it
If this is a regular occurrence for you, I'm curious about the level of experience that got you to this point.
Seems like a flawed business strategy. Ex: I currently use AWS, Linode, and Vultr for different regions and services for a single app. Avoiding vendor lock-in isn't trivial but is definitely something you can design for.
Any time I read an announcement like this I refresh my knowledge of competitors and make a mental note that it might be time to switch soon.
> It makes me think that the company exists just on a constant flow of VC or similar money and what I'm using or paying for isn't a realistic or future cost and I'm involved with a system or platform that is getting stretched larger and larger regardless of income and the more money they raise the harder the fall will be.
If you're an investor that's a valid concern. But as a user? I've been happy to have VC funding subsidize my food via Hello Fresh etc. whenever I'm inclined.
Glad that works for you but for my game servers edge computing is not ideal and generally currently not even applicable.
There's the creator's intent which can't really be known. Then there's the observer's interpretation which is equally valid.
If five fast food workers can prepare 100 meals in the time I can prepare 1, there should be some monetary savings shared with me (the customer) unless my time is truly worth close to 0. That's how economies of scale work.
A: I'm going to do X, Y, and Z.
B: If you just do X, we'll meet the requirements.
A: I tried X Y and Z to fix my problem.
B: You can simply reinstall the IDE.
I'm confused, how is the mean changing less impactful due to relatively high variance? If the was no variance at all, would .06us be a disaster?
More like problem stated. Determining true ecological impact is not trivial even if you ignore all the perverse incentives.
Did the battery die or the whole phone somehow?

"Hand made" has been a selling point since things were first made by things other than hands. Example: "The factory, known as the Ateller, [...] it is the place where our craftspeople assemble each BUGATTI by hand."
