HN really needs to do something about Microsoft's vote manipulation - it's becoming quite blatant at this point.
When will HN readers that they are furthering corporate agendas when they upvote fluff like this?
All they did is create a caching layer.
Flagged.
Great title? I'll upvote it now and read it later. Maybe.
Much like IBM's bullshit 25,000 jobs PR stunt this one has no substance besides the empty words of a suit who will do anything to increase revenue.
"“It’s a very powerful headline, and the timing certainly makes Trump look good,”
The staffing up isn’t particularly surprising for a company moving into multiple categories from groceries, hardware and video to fashion and cloud services. But the move could appease Trump, who tangled with Amazon Chief Executive Officer Jeff Bezos during the election campaign.

I, my peers, and my co-workers just don't see it. With billions in reserve it's no surprise they are trying to buy popularity.

Too often comment chains devolve into nitpicking, pedantry, and into off-topic discussion where two people fight tooth and nail for Internet Points.
From a technical perspective I get little or nothing from them, and from a discussion standpoint there's little reason for me to spend my time watching people nitpick each other over things that nobody in the community cares about.
With Microsoft's shrinking relevance to modern computing it's a given. They have billions in the bank so they might as well spend a few million on fake upvotes to give their products an illusion of popularity.
When your own former CEO calls Microsoft's current cloud numbers "bullshit", they probably are.
Tell me about why you don't think you have to answer to your customers.
I think this headline sums it up best: http://www.infoworld.com/article/3042699/open-source-tools/m...
Who you believe is up to you.
Also, you're assuming you have enough work to keep all machines busy all the time....
