Wevah··on Finder is so frustrating and has been since day one
You can press Command-Shift-. (period) to toggle hidden files. This isn’t very discoverable, though.

You can also hold Option while stopping a folder to get an additional Merge button, but at least one folder needs to have unique items.

Context menu → hold Option; “Copy” will change to “Copy <file> as Path”. (Sometimes you can just drag and drop the file to where you want to paste, but that depends on the destination app and so isn’t consistent.)
Wevah··on HyperCard on the Macintosh
It’s how I got my start into more than just tinkering with Apple BASIC!
Wevah··on Fun ways of deciding authorship order (2016)
I’d guess it’d be a particular collation, rather than Unicode order…otherwise ö would always come after z (which is incorrect for English, but correct for, e.g., Swedish).
Wevah··on US FDA approves nasal spray alternative to EpiPen for allergic reactions
Yes: “Stigmata” is the (a) plural of “stigma”.
Wevah··on Gemini Ad Backlash
Not to mention the title of the button to dismiss: “I’ll fix it next time”. Ugh.
Wevah··on Ente Auth: open-source Authy alternative for 2FA
Twitch supports regular TOTP now, thank goodness.
Wevah··on Dwarf Fortress starting during apt-get upgrade
That or being logged in. It was “not found” for me, too, until I logged in. (I don’t have any rep on the Ubuntu site, aside from the 100 for being on other SE sites).
Wevah··on US English: Why do Brits hate it so? [video]
“Could”, maybe?
Wevah··on Show HN: Fake or real? Try our AI image detector
If the iPhone one is the one I’m thinking of, it turns out the leaf was actually there.

Wevah··on Microsoft lays off 1,900 Activision Blizzard and Xbox employees
That’s genAI, though, no? LLMs specifically deal with language.
Wevah··on C23: A Slightly Better C
If you mean #import, it already exists as a keyword (though the meaning is different between GCC/Clang and MSVC).
Wevah··on Parsing an Undocumented File Format
The Unarchiver still doesn’t handle multipart RAR files correctly fairly often, too.
Wevah··on How to fix the disastrous new Xcode 15 console
nil Objective-C objects, too. Also, logging a signed int in Xcode 15 (for me) ends up being displayed as unsigned if os_log_* or NSLog are used (appears fine in Console.app, though, thankfully).

Wired story about the origin of the cards: https://www.wired.com/2007/06/lock-pick-busin/ (I looked it up because I thought they looked like some cards someone I knew designed, and sure enough…)
Wevah··on Why can’t you just roll back from a bad macOS update?
No, that’s a “rapid security response”, which is uninstallable.
Wevah··on Suspicious iOS KeePass Client
The provisioning profile expires after 7 days; you can transfer your development app to your devices as often as you want. Not sure if you lose data, when the profile expires, though.
Wevah··on Common Mac OS X Cursors
No, it was x3. The physical displays on the early “plus” phones were slightly smaller than the actual rendered resolution, so that was downscaled slightly.
Wevah··on Tumblr iOS revenue increased 125% since launching parody of paid verification
Agreed. Statements like those really need a preposition: A “by” or “to” would really help.
Wevah··on Apple attempting to stop investigation into its practices involving browsers
If I’ve read correctly [1], Safari on macOS 13 (released after the mentioned article) supports the standardized Web Push APIs.

Wevah··on Moonwalkers: Shoes that make you walk faster (pre-order)
It’s the trend of using “faster” when what’s meant is “as fast” that I don’t like.
Wevah··on Adventures in Advent of Code
The 5.7 compiler runs on Monterey, but the runtime is still 5.6, AIUI.
Wevah··on Drag and Drop from Terminal
I wrote something similar for fun for macOS a while back[1], though it doesn’t have the niceness of double-clicking the filename. (And of course now I’ve noticed more things to fix or change.)

Wevah··on Investigating why Steam started picking a random font
Some (many?) currently-updated 32-but OSS have been changed to use a 64-bit timestamp now, too.
Wevah··on Show HN: ShowMeYourHotKeys – A macOS app to show applications menu shortcuts
It might depend on which key your question mark is on, if not using a US layout.

Wevah··on Ask HN: Do you remember Computer Chronicles?
I was only introduced to it in the past few years, though I would have absolutely been in its target audience.
Wevah··on Ask HN: Do you remember Computer Chronicles?
HyperCard was when I finally felt like I was able to do something “real” (only messed around with various BASICs before that, and was quite young).
Wevah··on A Special Kind of Hell: intmax_t in C and C++ (2020)
IIRC K&R signatures are out in C23.

If that page is correct, it’s because Donald Duck is called Anders And in Danish(!).
