So far I’ve tried to stay away from google home, Alexa etc. I occasionally use Siri, e.g. to bulk delete my alarms, but most of the time I’d rather do it myself.
Voice assistants ensure accessibility and have use cases in emergency situations, but shouldn’t be abused for advertising and data hoarding…
I respect that services have running costs and I’m happy to cover my usage, but I have to understand that the average consumer doesn’t give a crap, or is simply ignorant and doesn’t know.
You can learn about the theory of sales, I’ll leave the others to post it. Long time sales specialist here: Sales is situational and hard to generalise. There is an important social aspect to sales. You need to know your customer and be able to read their reactions. All individual customers are, well, individuals. They react differently, have different expectations and bring different experience and behaviour to the table. You need to adjust during conversation and be prepared for the worst case scenarios.
My social circle grew a lot bigger when I first moved out, tho I lost touch with many high school “friends”. I moved places again in my early 20s and then it kept shrinking - more adult responsibilities, less friends.
I recently moved countries and my circle now consists of a handful of people I’ve been friends with 10-15+ Years, funnily most of these I’ve met online. We’re all part of the same group mostly, everyone with their responsibilities; wives, jobs, etc.
I’d say that’s pretty normal and expected

I like the idea of crypto currencies, if done well, but what we see are not actual currencies, imho. They are volatile assets at best, but usually just scams generally.
And if they aren’t designed to be scams, they will definitely be abused as one, looking at DOGE.
Listen. To. Your. Body. If you are financially stable enough, take an immediate break, go on vacation, focus on your relationships, friends and other hobbies you have neglected in favour for your job.
If you are not financially enough, talk to your employer, explain yourself and negotiate a reasonable solution.
Once you have distanced yourself from your profession, try out other things as well, it might show you that you have a different calling, or you’ll re-discover the appreciation for your old profession.
> I know this is common in our field and I feel a bit stupid/guilty for it happening to me so soon in my career.
Lastly, do not feel ashamed and guilty, everyone has their limits, discovering them before it’s to late is actually a strength! Talk to a therapist, to get some emotional support and possibly learn ways to deal with future ones - once you had one, you are more prone to it.
It attracts pump and dumb schemes, but it’s not a Ponzi scheme, those are very different things.
Doge is a joke, and that’s not a secret.
Anyway, writing something to a HOST file is not that incredible… regarding the motive, that might as well be a troll, or an attempt to drive traffic to private trackers.
Why not both?

Honestly, we need a optimised non-custom rom alternative to smartphone operating systems, which is not iOS or google/android.
While the custom-rom development has come a long way, it's to fiddly, often lacks long-term support, shortcomings in terms of stability (network/singal disruptions, battery usage, crashes, bricks)and even privacy.
