Some people suggested I should not included some of the options. But your questions are one of the reason why I chose to include options such as over 90. It would be really interesting to know the age of the oldest reader.
I am one of the people who has emailed you. I am glad to hear your reply here!!! And I am glad to hear that you did get help. I understand how you feel..I really do...
I think there is some truth to what you said. But I dislike your example. I don't think born rich is necessarily a good thing nor that everyone wants to born rich. Another thing is that I think most people prefer to not use parents' money. Using someone else's money (even if it is your parents' money) will cause you to lose some control and power. In other words, if you use parents' money very often, then you probably have to listen to your parents a lot..I don't know about others..but I generally don't want to listen to my parents...
Oh yeah. I had wondered that too. Maybe they will be like dropbox and Evernote in the future. People can pay money to get the premium version with more features and space.
My friend just introduced me to trello last week! And I really love this app! I use it for personal life too and put down things I want to say to my friends and share it with them.
Firstly, I think you made a spelling error. It should be "worst" not "worse".
Worst decision=dating all my ex-boyfriend.
Best decisions=Taking this statistics class where I have met some of my best friends in the class. Maybe also applying for graduate school.
Reading the article and reading the comments almost gave me a panic attack. Just broke up for real today (the breakup dragged on for few months.)... 3.5 years of relationship ended for reasons that I can never never understand.. Why is relationship so hard?
It is a very inspiring story! I think everyone can relate to it to some extent because everyone has down times. It saddens me very much that we live in such a society that stigmatizes depression and suicide this much. I have only realized how bad the stigmatization is until recently due to things that happened in my personal life. This article also made me want to write out my own story and share it online. Maybe one day I will do that.
Totally agree with you. Ideas are cheap. I don't know the exact statistics but I found that most of the times, a person's startup idea will be already done by someone else. You need to do research for your idea nonetheless. But just don't get dishearten so quickly when you see that someone has already executed similar ideas.
The truth is that personality stays relatively stable over time. The author seems to believe that people are born as blank slates and thus we can easily change our behaviour and personality..The reality is that we are not born as blank slates. We are born with many innate qualities (i.e., temperament, intelligence). I do agree that we can change some of our habits. But there are aspects of ourselves that we simply can't change. For myself, I think it is anxiety and depression. It is part of me. I can do things to minimize it but I will still be prone to it.
I think my future partner really just has to accept this imperfect aspect of me.. I feel sorry that he will have to deal it with me.. But in turn, I will also accept his imperfections. Isn't relationship more about tolerance and compromise?
To the author of the article: I have been staring at the screen for two mins after reading the article. I really want to say something encouraging and supportive; but I found myself at a lost of what to say. Maybe it is because I really understand what you mean by the sense of "impending doom." When I had the sense of "impending doom," I feel that people just don't understand--How can I not feel depressed when the situation is getting worse and worse? But life moves on.. And the situation will get better one way or the other. Ten years later when you look back at this, I am sure that you will realize that it is not as bad as you think it is... You have to stay hopeful!
