workbench··on Ad-Free Social Platform App.net Raises Another $2.5M From Andreessen Horowitz
This service has become such a joke.

People paid for a Twitter clone and just got a confused mess of hand wavy nonsense about being a general purpose pipe for applications.

workbench··on Google Blindness
How long till it has adverts seen as every listen will cost google something.

I'd rather pay

workbench··on Google Blindness
He does in his podcast and on Twitter
workbench··on Google Blindness
He's also gone into great detail on his blog about how unsuccessful that has been and if he worked on the port himself (outside company volunteered to work on it) he wouldn't have been able to go fulltime like iOS allowed.
workbench··on Google Blindness
You don't really get a choice about lock in, however you do get to choose if you want your actions, searches, communications and location harvested to build an advertising profile or not.

> not very good developers

Probably this judging by how many years the UI ignored the GPU on that platform.

workbench··on Firefox now only has one HTML parser
Typical Mozilla nonsense

Honestly don't understand why we can't call them out on this.

> Did we actively intend for it to be reminiscent of OS X? Absolutely not

This statement is a total lie.

workbench··on ElementaryOs Luna released
Bit different, the first two directly mimic how a regular file browser window looks. The OS X and ElemOS preferences don't imitate their file windows.

God MS screwed 95 up so badly.

> Did we actively intend for it to be reminiscent of OS X? Absolutely not

Sorry but this is pure BS

1998-2003 Linux invests a ton of time imitating Windows Explorer and Outlook

2013-???? Linux invests a ton of time replicating OS X and iTunes

Why can they never just innovate themselves?

workbench··on Some killjoys have removed the blink tag from Firefox
One less reason to use Firefox
workbench··on Lego Architecture Studio Now Available
Google isn't helping me right now, but IIRC didn't Lego use to manufacture bricks for actual architects to prototype with. They were smaller than regular bricks.
workbench··on Stealth Startups Are Stupid
Don't know why you expected anything else from an "ideas guy"
workbench··on Xerox responds to the recent character substitution issue
You'd expect anyone who knows how JBIG2 works would also know it should never have been used for this

"the device web user interface"

Why on earth does a scanner have a web interface

workbench··on Firefox 23 is available
What a joke
workbench··on Firefox 23 is available
UI is just way better than anything else out there

UI feels and IS more native than anything else out there

Performance is better than Firefox and only worse than Chrome in beta technologies and a few edge cases

workbench··on The Sun's Magnetic Field is about to Flip
Unfortunately it wont do any good because you can't buy taste
workbench··on OMGPOP Team Tried To Buy Back Its Site, But Zynga Killed It Instead
They didn't expect Draw Something to drop off so much faster than their usual games.

Probably didn't understand that Draw Something isn't even a game when you think about it, so didn't really have a competitive angle and became tiresome quickly.

workbench··on OMGPOP Team Tried To Buy Back Its Site, But Zynga Killed It Instead
Serves them right really, what on earth did they think was going to happen
workbench··on Xerox scanners and photocopiers randomly alter numbers in scanned documents

workbench··on Hands on with Bootstrap 3 - A landing page
Honestly don't get why people can't just use CSS for something like this.

Talk about over-engineering

workbench··on New Project Will Let You Scan 3D Objects Using Your Browser
Looking forward to the open source desktop versions of this kind of tech.
workbench··on The Quantum Zeno Effect actually does stop the world
