The point is not needing to store multiple copies of an image. You can simplify the back-end if you serve the same file to all clients.
Only a fool would put more trust in Oracle.
Not to mention that development has been stagnant for 15 years since it's flagship application (Nuke), was ported to QT.
Webgpu and wasm without a web browser would be a nice way to distribute portable sandboxed code.
The reason for Webgpu is that it it has semantics closer to modern modern apis like Metal or Direct X.
Gore-Tex is a PTFE membrane laminated one side of a fabric.
The other side of the fabric is coated with a DWR (durable water repellent) coating.
The DWR finish prevents the outer fabric from being saturated with water.
The DWR is not made from PTFE and historical has contained PFAS compounds.
It is not a permanent finish, so it definitely ends up in the environment.
There are new PFAS free DWR finishes, but don't know if Gore-Tex is using them yet.
Gore does not consider PTFE to be environmentally friendly and is working on flourocarbon free fabrics.
A flutter desktop app will perform a lot better.
If performance was the primary concern, GTK and QT, would not be generations behind (a claim I am skeptical of.)
UI toolkits have a much larger audience than the tiny corner of the industry you work in.
I'm very skeptical that a bunch of game developers are going to whip together something that crushes Skia in performance without sacrificing a ton of capabilities.
I have been harassed by building security for taking photos from the sidewalk outside my cities tallest skyscraper.
An architect might own the rights to a buildings design, but they don't own the right to the cities skyline. City photography would become impossible if photographers have to acquire a license for every building in their photos.
