Still, it gives me a fair amount of satisfaction to choose something else over Sony when the products are next to each other on a shelf.
At first, a few years ago, it was because there was one specific update that broke our Oracle software, so everything got turned off. Now, we keep them off because of inertia. We started pushing out selected security updates in the last few months because the security folks insisted.
Oddly, it's our policy to install the full set of updates (except IE8) to all machines that have issues. We also update our images with all the latest stuff from Microsoft Updates.
It's certainly one of the factors in my decision to sign up with the registry.

Between Silk and Cyanide is an account by Leo Marks, the man in charge of that effort. It's a fantastic read.
What do you think of "Nexus Galaxy"?
EDIT: Or keep it the way it is, just with the same field for search and the new overlap, but with the other stuff being visible on the button click.
A brief note: the "Show me [Safe for all ages|Moderate\Unsure|Restricted] overlaps" is awkwardly phrased-- if I select Restricted, is the site gonna be all sex, all the time, or will I still get the unrestricted overlaps?
Also in that little settings pane, having to click OK after selecting from a dropdown is annoying-- I expect it to work like other dropdowns, where it stays like I left it if I click somewhere else.
I like that after searching for an overlap and not finding it, I can click "New Overlap" and it auto-populates, but does that need to be a separate text field? The transition feels a little awkward, and it needs to be very smooth to encourage people to create new overlaps.
I'm still playing with it, but I think it's a very neat concept that could get big.
EDIT: Okay, if I "Me Too" and overlap, I get to see who else did too, over on the right, but it's still one more click to open up our overlaps, a scan through the list, some typing, and another click before I can send them a message about how we both like Nutella. What if there were a message button by each person that I could use right after I "Me Too" something to talk to them about it?
Sorry if this is disorganized and long, I'm just adding as I go through the site.

EDIT 10:28 Eastern They're resuming the countdown in 6 minutes and they are go for launch.
We launch from sea in Denmark, east of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea. We like the idea of launching (and landing) on water. If we are able to control this environment we are basically able to launch our rockets from anywhere in the world to any height.
The basic problem that keeps most amateur rocketry projects from reaching high altitude is that of a suitable launch site. Northern Europe is very densely populated, and there are no areas like the Black Rock Desert. Even if we did have deserts here, the regulatory regime of private, amateur spaceflight is Terra Incognito to authorities.
However it has been discovered that outside the national territorial waters - typically 12 nautical miles off the coast - things gets a lot simpler from a legal perspective. In the practical world the open sea also offers a lot of interesting features to us.
Few landmasses on the planet is as empty as the open sea - and as easy to monitor. This makes the whole issue of range safety relatively simple compared to the conditions on land. Most space ports are found on a coastline for the same reason. Finally - operating out of Copenhagen, Denmark - the logistic challenge of launching rockets from Sahara or some place in the Artic is much larger than sailing a couple of hundred nautical miles out to sea.
As a result, in 2009, we decided to commit Copenhagen Suborbitals to sea launch.
