ß

There is no karma level that I know of that
will allow you to downvote articles.

The only way to effectively downvote an article
is to flag it, but only do this with articles
that you feel should not be on the site at all.

Additionally, enough flags in a short enough time will auto-delete a submission without moderator intervention. Certainly flags make an item fall rapidly down the rankings.

Absolutely. The problem is also that people are not voting enough other stories up. If someone has a handful of friends (cough socketpuppets) that rate the article within minutes after the submission, they are able to push any story to the frontpage.

I'm on 3k and I can't downvote stories. I don't think you're able to downvote stories at all.

However you can flag stories. Then the Powers That Be will look at them and bury them if needed.

wow... what's with the vitriolic reaction? I never knew that there was a ß (the ligature of ss). I only knew about β (beta). I thought others would like to know.
