They have an employee who has been with them for years, currently kidnapped by Hamas to Gaza[1]. They won't even acknowledge it.
It's a crazy thing not to acknowledge, not even in internal forums.

These two facts make those people feel "safe" to commit high crimes.
It is both in this article and many others, it's not like this is a secret.
There are migrants from the same countries that integrated well. The problem is mostly with the "asylum seekers" who never wanted to integrate.
Given they are chanting "Gas the Jews" and "Rape the Jews".
These are not protests - these are death marches.
If there was a blockade - how so many weapons got in?
Guarding the borders is essential - we saw what they did in a few hours without them. Burning women alive. Decapitating babies. Raping teenagers then shooting them.
Without a guarded border - they'll do a second holocaust. That's not a speculation - that's a proven fact.
E.g deep links. Which is very, very basic feature for mobile. Firefox on Android is unusable without it - and it seems like no one prioritize this, so excuse me for not being excited by any other feature.

It had nothing to do with "brand power" - we didn't even know it was DnD.
We just bought what seems like a great game with no bullshit microtransaction.
I think you are overanalyzing it.
In forums, exposure of topics depends only on recency. While Reddit and the likes combine recency with community upvotes.
Upvotes are important and allow for automatic quality control as well as keeping important things up for more exposure, even if they are not the most recent.
Forums alone are no longer the best way to go.
49$ per user per month!!! And I don't need the features! I wanted to downgrade to the 29$ immediately, at least. And then I saw this: https://support.pagerduty.com/docs/billing-invoices-payments
I have to contact their sales to downgrade.
I'm furious. I won't downgrade. I'll cancel completely and move to your app.
This is worth at least 4x any salary I would have got anywhere else. So much more free time, no commute, the ability to really live in my community, REAL flexibility. What price tag is there to having more time with your family?
I rally thought a lot about the 4x figure. That's the minimum required for me to even consider the hell of an office work again.
Unfortunately, it doesn't matter.
It will lead to more people losing trust in the media and flocking into extreme social media silos.
The problem is still here, even if the cause of the problem makes no sense.
It seems like Trump said it from the start, and the media negated him based on political views, not facts. And now, only years later, there is a reconciliation with the facts.
Now, I'm not that aware of the politics or the media in the US. But I think the way I see it may be the way many others saw this story roll.
Whether or not it's true - it is a big reason that many people don't trust the media. And this may be the bigger story for us all going forward.
Spotify aligning themselves with content, any content, made them a publisher and not a software company. That's their biggest mistake.

Why would I want to build an audience on a platform with no monetization possibility, ever?
Even sponsorships are not possible, since I can't reliably count reads (which I can even in email).
It's nice to think of the "classic" internet, but it's a naivety that will keep RSS on the edges. And I love RSS idea! I want it back! I hate subscribing to email newsletters in a way that makes it hard to manage and organize.
1. Discoverability 2. Monetization
Consider YouTube - it provides discoverability through the algorithmic feed. Giving creators a distribution platform they can't find anywhere else. It also provides monetization through ads, sponsorships and direct support to creators.
Consider Newsletters - no discoverability built in, but it does support monetization. Pay to subscribe, and only you will get the newsletter. RSS feed can't limit only to subscribers.
The options strike price is usually dictated by the last round valuation - this may mean that in a possible IPO in the future many employees will find they made close to nothing
User experience is a big part of image generation. Yet, Midjourney 4 can output better images with easier prompts.
Don't ever use GCP if you're not a big enough enterprise. Just as you should never buy a Dell laptop as an individual consumer.
I'm sorry this happened to you, I hope someone will learn from your experience
Whenever I wanted a quick edit, or to open a big file that VS Code and others will struggle with - I used Sublime.
But now I moved to Lapce[1] which is even faster (I didn't think it'd be possible) and open source, which is a huge bonus. It's not feature complete yet, but it got good enough and they improve fast.
I'd love to see the same method, but with audio inputs too.
Youtube power is in its recommendation engine. I discovered amazing content through this engine. You say you come to watch what you want, but how do you initially fill the "subscription" page without exploring first?
There can be various levels of exploring. Maybe visiting the home page only once a month. But the distribution capabilities are what makes Youtube what it is.
In work you have no friends, you have colleagues. Maybe 1% of them really care about you. Even those who seems like they care about you, are so used to see you by default every day, that you never develop a way to communicate otherwise - so when you will change jobs, they will disappear.
These fake relationship in the workplace are the main reason you'll find yourself alone in your 30s.
But WFH allow me to cultivate REAL friendships with people that choose to communicate with me without being forced by "being in the same office". Long term, this is the only way not to end up alone.
I used the "Serverless" product, not the "Dedicated" product. That's the gap you see here.
But your point is important, I'll add it to the post. Thank you.
HN like to talk about how risky it is to use Google products as they will shut down - but this is 10 times riskier.
You depend on a closed system, with no guarantees, for a usage it was not originally designed for. Notion itself can still be alive, but change some feature to kill this usage. Not even intentionally.
