Probably a good candidate to compete with Minecraft (assuming the entire stack can be made easy to access).
Secretly I still dream we are able to build a 2023 version of an ultima online verse.
Also, for local setup, this still require to have a port mapping at router level, I assume?
Something about using a level of abstraction at the wrong layer of the stack. I would expect GPU rendering to be used way deeper in the stack (OS level).
fast forward 3 years from there, I was running the the biggest italian magic community with ~15k concurrent active users daily, with one of the biggest deployed use cased of a asp/access database (because hosts were charing a lot more for php+sql).
Foreigners were running their own subforums on it, with the brazilian and french community being the biggest one.
I did suck at the game, but every time I was attending an event, every single person knew the website and had only nice things to say about it.
It was magical, I didn't know what I was doing, and I didn't realised what I achieve until very very long after. Me wanting to connect with people online on such a niche topic, and having to create a platform for it, started a personal learning chain reaction, that down the line allowed me to enter the tech world with ease.
In the Mediterranean area, while there is more prevalence of solar, it's not a clear winner either. For instance in Italy there is quite an aggressive law on usage of agricultural space for big solar farms. Solar will win in the decentralized, domestic space, an area that I'm highly interested in. At scale, Wind seems to offer a better ROI, especially on country on the coast line (or other favourable morphological characteristic)
I'm heavily looking to switch to work on the space (from more traditional consumer products), but it's a more full stack space: software is written as a byproduct of the hardware. unfortunately I haven't found any Electrical engineering interesting in doing something in the space. Shameless plug if there is someone out there interested.
I'm always a bit concerned where I see those wood projects I really wonder about two aspects:
1- thermal conductivity. How well isolated can they be when you have full beams of wood with one side outside and one inside.
2- durability. I really appreciate wood for SOOO many properties, but what is really the realistic durability of woods? from an ecstatic standpoint, from a maintance standpoint (do I need to regularly treat it), and from a functional standpoint (what happen with heavy duty use)?
Would love some inform opinion
I had almost worked out myself how it worked by playing those special tape in a normal recorder.
It's a technology already used at utilities companies to understand for instance if a household has electric or gas hobs.
2) how easy is to scale this business in different geo ? I believe you started in Canada and now present in NORAM, what would it take to get to EMEA?
3) You business model is b2b, but would you be interested in going b2c and leverage a network of EV running your OS ? (independently of who's operating it). For instance with a Cross EV charger subscription
I would love you honest take on ROS as an operative system platform for robot development
