Feels odd to dismiss such a huge breakthrough by saying it’s still not as good as the pinnacle of AI (general AI). Just because the Apple 2 wasn’t a home super computer, didn’t make it less revolutionary.

First CCS cable I plugged in was broken or something because it would keep erroring out before charging. This is after 1+ min of using their app to connect to it each time (3 tries). Switched cables and it happened again on the first try. Tried again and it says it errored out again but starts charging. Obviously that is concerning but after 5+ mins of trying to get it started, I gave in. When I get back, my phone says it’s done and a $10 charge but the charger says $16. Check the app after and it says I was charged $16. Why is there such a significant discrepancy?
It’s such a backwards experience after using a supercharger where you just plug in and walk away.
But yeah, at that point just ping google since they’ve spent millions on availability.
I don’t agree with it but I’m sure it saves a few dollars.
It’s more in line with “traditional” companies. Amazon is going more down the IBM route everyday. For any Amazonians, it’s day 2.
Like Amazon has a 3 year vesting period for 401k matches. If you leave before then, you lose all the matched funds but keep your direct contributions.
Not sure why this is news other than trying ride the “big tech bad” viewpoint.
But that said, it’s fine. People who feel that way should not buy a Tesla or, if they do, don’t use AP. Free market and all that.
I think it’s made extremely clear that you need to be paying attention during FSD/AP. Car may have partial blame for doing something unexpected but driver didn’t do anything to get out of that situation.
While the headline is technically correct, it’s obviously clickbaity. Saying Zenimax QA engineers are unionizing doesn’t get as many clicks.
I can’t argue that fangs on the front could be safer but most riders I see would probably not recover a nose dive with them.
It just requires you to stay in their system instead of selling (taking a screenshot of the code) elsewhere.
If they locked the ticket to your name, that would actually block the scalpers but they don’t.
Then again, it could be true. More likely to come up in conversation since people are reading it everywhere.
To play devils advocate though, maybe case 1,2,3 are low enough risk to release. Having metrics set to watch if these are actually big problems could be “good enough.”
Don’t have a lot of brand loyalty but nice to see them not shit on their customers.
I can understand investing big in people but Adam would be the last person I would trust to be successful. The lack of owning responsibility in the failure of WeWork is a huge red flag. Why would A16Z give their largest investment to him?
