shareme··on Android fragmentation is a feature, not the big problem everyone says it is
that low-ish revenue you report is also there in the iphone platform as the overall aggregate iphone app sales masks that data point.

Now can we have a honest conversation instead of using the non-meaningful fragmentation word designed to start a non-conversation..

Its the same problem with code quality..code quality dramatically impacts sellability on both platforms..however we have a diss-connect as on android people want to blame Google Play market rather than the problem and on iphone peopel want to claim its something else because Apple never gets anything wrong..

ITS THE SAME EFFING problem FOLKS ON Both platforms!

Can we please remove our heads from our asses!?

shareme··on Banks are too big to see what's coming
they already have a mobile SIM card that acts as a credit card..this is why Smartphones will take longer to uptake there due to the different SIM card not necessarily the phone device price.
shareme··on The shocking toll of hardware and software fragmentation on Android development
the article is link bait..

How do I know? Because the same fragmentation exists on iphone but smaller in quantities..to say it is not there on iphone is a bit somewhat lying like republicans..

Now lets see someone be honest about this on both platforms or STFU

shareme··on Java 9 with GPU processing, Java 10 will be all-OOP without primitives
I think I will switch to Google Go
shareme··on Research In Motion is dead
Is it not time for MS to buy another mobile OS company?

MSQNX coming to a phone near you...

shareme··on SecureUDID Is An Open Source Solution To The Apple UDID Problem
that is an UUID which every linux/unix OS device has one including desktops. Its what URI is based upon, even MS has their own version of such a thing in MS windows..
shareme··on Mexican Drug Gangs Kidnap Computer Hackers and Programmers
What is sad is that US citizens do not understand that this un-civil war has been going on for the past 30 years and we as US citizens have done nothing that has a statistical impact of reversing the damage.

Instead we invade Iraq and Afghanistan based on the political connections of a former Haliburton employee and stockholder.

And if we do not wake up soon.. WWII will be on our doorstep.

shareme··on Schneier removed from TSA oversight meeting at TSA request
if that is true than no TSA rep involved in the lawsuit can also appear before congress..I mean common use some logic please!

The TSA excuse for exclusion is sham in of itself

shareme··on Microsoft apologizes over 'Smoked by Windows Phone' controversy
Kind of failed just like the rigging of Nokia to choose WP over Android right MS? :)
shareme··on Colourlovers Buys Forrst
good news as its one of the important tools that I use
shareme··on How One Response to a Reddit Query Became a Big Budget Flick
guess where trying out new ideas is somewhat low in costs as far as movies go? 2d Mobile Games :)
shareme··on Ask HN: do founders get a salary after raising angel round?
its a little more complicated than that..

in the USA if you do not pay more than $1600 per month salary for those who work overt time that computer engineer is an automatic non exempt employee by one particular Federal job act law and there are some more laws on top of that..

shareme··on Kevin Rose Will Join Google
Obviously you forgot Kevin Rose's background..are you aware that in fact he is a developer?

Look up his CS degree dude..

At least know about the effing subject before you open your effing mouth

shareme··on Where’s _why?
you remind me of an unwanted salesperson or recruiter invading someone else's space.

Being an asshole is no excuse whatsoever whether you are covering a public figure or not in a story..

most on HN will not state this plainly but you are behaving like an asshole..please stop

shareme··on The Man Who Broke Atlantic City
What is surprising is how easy it is to compute the odds..its just permutations and combinations..not that hard its a 100 level math course in most colleges.

What makes it different is that we needed two things to leverage the $1 million he put up per Casino and the Casino management being fool-hardy enough to believe that they computed the odds on the change in rules and discounts correctly.

It would be like say oh stacking the deck in that the founders get one class of stock and everyone else another class which allows the founders to retain ownership control of a start-up.

You do not need to card count as he changed the rules to only have hand shuffled six decks in the shoe..I can with a certain memory system compute the odds on cards dealt from that shoe and so can you..its not hard..its simple math..

shareme··on FBI, stumped by pimp's Android pattern lock, serves warrant on Google
is MANN act state or Federal?
shareme··on Yammer CEO won't hire anyone from Yahoo who doesn't quit in next 60 days
Here is an equally non-meaning statement, I will never hire the Yammer CEO to ever walk my dog.

Pure bait link BS..

shareme··on Milk Inc. to shut down Oink on March 31st
I have a question..

How ethical is this to set something up to obviously collect 'free data'?

shareme··on It’s time to start paying for Android updates
OEMs already 'get paid' for updates..through the MOs..

They are playing both sides of the coin by locking things down.

shareme··on Dear "Landlord"
I think we have missed the un-mentioned point...

What does this say about Twitter that they have to buy product staff? What does that say about the value of their IPO?

The Thiel proposition would be, long-term, we should be betting against every one who IPO'd thus far.

shareme··on I Hope Yahoo Crushes Facebook
Lets see if we can get some use out of this thread:

What countries DO NOT SUPPORT SOFTWARE PATENTS?

My probably guess if China..any others?

shareme··on Yahoo Crosses The Line
And how many worthless patents doe USV firms have?

And where was Fred when MS started its shit?

Oh effing come one now, lets have a honest conversation Fred instead of some lame miss-direction..

shareme··on JSON.org License Literally Says it "shall be used for Good, not Evil"
So the TSA and CIA cannot use it?
shareme··on The story of Google Guava and patches
Google could carry this suggestion further and re-opensource all projects in the same manner including Android..

Not that it would be an easy transition but the long-term value from all the communities would be in Google's favor..

shareme··on (Yet Another) Android NDK Blog Posting
Yes, the feature set is through Sequayah(not correct spelling) which is part of the mobile java tools..
shareme··on The Go-Nowhere Generation
another flawed article..

Can we suggest that NYTIMES seek better article submissions? Maybe some HN'er?

shareme··on It's not a talent shortage, it's a hiring problem
Yes you can in fact skip HR..

Shh..little secret..od you know how programmers skip FB or Google HR?

They submit a product to FB or Google that gets a buyout offer..

Smaller firms its much easier to skip HR..you just get a hld of the engineer manager

shareme··on How India Became America
a question..

Many other countries with corruption problems see a huge increase in skilled worker outflows..namely Russia with a 2 million outflow every 10 years..

Is India also facing a killed worker outflow due to corruption conditions? Outflow in the sense that the number is higher than the net difference between the birth and death rates.

shareme··on French comic-book artist "Moebius" dies
not just comics and books go watch Aliens or Tron again..the effects were more than just inspired by him..
shareme··on Loopt acquired by payment card provider for $43.3m in cash
some backstory..beware personal opinion

I had the opportunity to interview with Loopt sometime ago, right when they in fact did the name change to Loopt.

My read than was that they in long term terms were going to fail as certain constraints to do things were not in their best interests...at that time it was Mobile Operator limits..tie-=ups

Its a sad thing as current deal looks to be only based on patents values..not what Sam's team put into it..
