Moronic. So to create tax revenue, let's spend tax revenue on a device, data collection, analysis, complex billing, which of course the gov having a great history of being good stewards with our tax dollars, will overpay. All for something that can double as a spying device. yay.
Just raise the gas tax to make up for lost revenue. Sick of hearing "we are addicted to oil" every state of the union and the answer is right there. Solves the road revenue problem as well.
I thought this query was instant in most dbs because it reads an internal row count of the table since this particular query has no conditions or joins.
I played for a bit, not as much as you. Couldn't they have made items "bind on equip" and/or "bind on pickup" similar to WoW instead of dropping the AH all together? Seems like dropping the AH will just create 3rd party marketplaces and trading instead.
I got the first dedicated server offering in their Canada DC. Since then, OVH offered better servers at lower prices. I ask OVH support if they can lower my monthly payment to match a similarly spec'd server. Keep in mind, they no longer offered the one I was using afaik. They said "No, cancel the server and order a new one". So that is exactly what I did, I was disappointed because it was more work. If they would just offer a price match , they could have lower turn over.
Ok I'm ignorant on the subject. I watched the CNN video but the page just says read Wikipedia. Gupta says the suits are to protect you from gamma radiation (maybe not those exact words). Is that not an accurate way to describe the purpose to their target audience? From what I understand, there are radioactive particles everywhere near the reactor and you don't want these in or on your body, because they are emitting high levels of radiation. Correct me if I'm wrong.
The base will likely be around ~35k after 7500k tax credit which I think is doable. I would guess it will be have 40 & 60 kwh offerings and a bit smaller than the S. The 40 should easily pull off 150 miles rated range. I have a 60kwh software reduced to 40. I get a rated range of 144 which has been plenty for my use.
Wouldn't you be throwing away your ability to add a caching layer. I guess their are ngx modules for Memcache/Redis but coding even a simple api in nginx.conf can get difficult?
I still like the idea of nginx being able to communicate with different datastores. For example, let's say you want to serve a file but it requires authentication, you can pass some signed request via query string and cross check it in session in redis/postgres wherever.
I think this is a fine change. When I do family tech support which I'm sure many of you have done. I always install Firefox or chrome and remove the IE icon from the desktop, and just say "use this, not IE". At some point they end up disabling Javascript because they think it's java and they understand Java is insecure. So now when a page comes up broken, they get frustrated and load in IE. /facepalm
Unfortunately they currently have 2 loaners, a p85 and 60, in the entire DFW metroplex. I took mine in for service and they gave me a Yaris from enterprise because the loaners were being used. I'm just glad I got something for free, although a p85 would of been fun. :)
I was about to post the same thing. I can't believe they get away with having this feature. If I click a Linkedin link on Google, oops I'm logged in, my viewing history is for sale.
I despise these traffic cameras. They are popping up everywhere in the DFW area. So many people I know get rolling right on red tickets... it's absolute BS. It has nothing to do with safety and everything about money. There are so many instances where you can check if it's safe to make a right without having to make your wheels completely stop. I can't imagine many accidents being caused by a vehicle moving <2mph while making sure they were clear as opposed to coming to a complete stop. These photo enforced lights make me nervous as all hell, as I approach, first sign of yellow and I find myself slamming on the brakes.
I have FTTH with AT&T Uverse yet they only offer at max 22 mbps down / 3 up at around $60/month. Is lack of competition the only reason why AT&T doesn't offer me more speed? I mean why would they? It's either AT&T or dial-up.
I tried to use my gmail address and it gave me this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13941904/persona.png
Am I just making up a password for a Persona account and it's using my email address as the user id? I can see how some people would type in their gmail password in by mistake.
Are you reserving one? The negative to this offering is I am limited to 2 lenders so I might pay alittle more in interest versus a credit union. I think this program requires an additional $8/month as well. It gives me an exit plan if for some reason I want to get rid of the car relatively easily.
Model S is a nice car, comparable to a BMW 5 series. I think this is why people are buying it added with the fact it's an EV with one moving part. If green and unused weight was a customers primary concern then they would get a motorcycle or Nissan Leaf and not a sedan that can go do 0-60 in 4.4 seconds. My point is, I don't think they will be upset based on that reasoning. Maybe someone that already got a 60kwh might be upset and would have opted for the gimped range if it saved him $10k. As a 40kwh reserve holder, I am thrilled to be getting a 60kwh, I'm not concerned about the extra weight.
I'm a reservation holder for a 40kwh for about a couple months. I am pleased by this news obviously. I get the option to enable more range and the supercharger if I wanted. I didn't need either of these because I don't plan on taking long road trips with it (I have a 2nd vehicle for that). There might be some 60 owners upset by this but they knew what they were ordering and are getting it. Perhaps they wanted 60 speed but not range? People that ordered the 60,85 models are spending a lot of money and are likely Tesla enthusiasts. I don't think they are going to get angry over something that is beneficial to the company's bottom line. It's in every Tesla owners best interest for this company to be around for several years to come. I was predicting they would scrap the 40kwh battery and somehow not lose that low price point Tesla keeps advertsing. I based this on the fact they never shipped one, Europe doesn't even have that option for Model S orders and the Model X doesn't have a 40kwh option.
I was curious about the speed of jQuery selector versus querySelectorAll so I made a jsperf test. I realized people have done it already when trying to select a slug. When looking at the results, I noticed opera having a massive edge over the rest so I assumed it was doing some caching. Therefore, I created a random DOM for each test using the setup/teardown.
