Chrome was better and faster than Firefox when it came out...
rejectfinite··on Brave is a fork, not a Chromium reskin
I can just configure away the stuff I don't want on Brave? They have options for all the stuff, I turned these off/changed:

- Sponsored images

- Cards

- VPN button

- Wallet button

- Set shields to aggressive

- Brave rewards program and button in UI

- Turn off Autoplay

- Turn ON Snowflake

So it looks pretty clean but it is a lot of digging in menus. But I would rather have more settings than less.

rejectfinite··on Brave is a fork, not a Chromium reskin
Gecko is harder to work with and slower.

"just fork Firefox" lol

Why did Opera, Microsoft, Vivaldi and Brave all base off Chromium if Gecko was so good?

*I do use Firefox

rejectfinite··on Brave is a fork, not a Chromium reskin
>Brave and Vivaldi are mere reskins, and they don't do anything more than Ungoogled Chromium do, but adding their own bloat.

Brave has an excellent adblocker with Brave Shields built in and now just added vertical tabs native.

Vivaldi has the best tab and window management in a browser by far, and even has an internal command line/launcher in pressing F2.

rejectfinite··on Brave is a fork, not a Chromium reskin
Good to hear. I like using Brave as a secondary browser and I also use it on phone and tablet as Firefox is slower on Android and Brave with aggressive shields blocks ads just as well as ublock on Firefox.

Brave even blocks Twitch and Youtube ads for me without addons.

Yes, I did have to spend time turning off the crypto stuff in it. But when tweaked it is an excellent browser.

rejectfinite··on Slack was down
You can have normal Chats in Microsoft Teams too.

We dont really use the Teams part for Chats. Only for incidents or company wide stuff.

rejectfinite··on Unpacking Google’s Web Environment Integrity specification
So this will affect Vivaldi, Brave and Edge too, even if Brave has an integrated adblocker and Vivaldi does too, but less effective?

And Firefox will get blocked by even more sites if they don't implement this shit too?

wow those dates.. I am using a 2014 desktop, an i7, running Windows 10 just fine. Still game on it too. Insane by Google

Successful compared to South Korea and China? Even eastern europe? And you say “Jamaica”? Do you not see the absurdity?
rejectfinite··on Why South Africa Is on the Brink of Chaos
>but it's a truth that must be confronted

Why? I really do not care anymore. How much have been poured in? How many marshall plans in $? While Germany rose from a bombed out nation in 1945 to the EU's strongest economy?

South Korea too is even more impressive, from an illiterate peasant nation to now with Samsung and all that.

Japan got hit with the most destructive man made weapon, twice. Granted, they were an Asian powerhouse up to WW2.

I think the key is education and "making your own shit". Have any African nations made weapons, planes, tanks, communications equipment, trains, cars, and now computers and phones in the same ilk?

Being Swedish, we are 10milion only and have made planes, submarines, ericsson + vast mining and forest operations with assorted companies. :)

Is USA the reason they have 12h long "load shedding"/power cut sessions?

This is corruption, not socialism.
rejectfinite··on Google tries internet air-gap for some staff PCs
>but that doesn't really work when you're given a Macbook and able to work from home and coffee shop etc.

MDM like jamf and/or EDR/Antivirus like SentinelOne and Carbon Black can disable USB ports/anything in software. If your account is not admin/root you cannot remove them also.

I have noticed here on HN that a lot of people don't have desktops and think they are as good as laptops in terms of performance. lol
rejectfinite··on Apple says it'll remove iMessage and FaceTime in UK rather than break encryption
The opposite is more annoying...

Whatsapp works on PC, Mac, Android and iOS

iMessage only works on Apple devices.

Powerful desktop + cheaper laptop to remote into it or just use. Some cloud service or server for sync. easy. Why are you trying to do something desktop is not designed for?

rejectfinite··on U.S. had intelligence of detailed Ukrainian plan to attack Nord Stream pipeline
>Do you think the powers that be don't have plans and contingencies in place for subsea internet cables?

Russian ships probably cut the Norwegian one to Svalbard.

https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/43828/undersea-cable-c...

The "plan" is to repair asap.

What do you mean? What plan? To do what?

rejectfinite··on U.S. had intelligence of detailed Ukrainian plan to attack Nord Stream pipeline
This was on Swedish news too.

Our investigation is not done yet.

But the explosion happened near us, so this is big news.

There were also Russian ships spotted going back and forth over the area before the explosion.

I really don't know what to believe on this, it's very interesting.

rejectfinite··on U.S. had intelligence of detailed Ukrainian plan to attack Nord Stream pipeline
I can't tell if you are being ironic or not.

Are you actually advocating to "memory hole" news that dont fit the narrative of "Ukraine best, Russia bad"

Yes, Russia is bad. But we should still know the truth.
