Our investigation is not done yet.
But the explosion happened near us, so this is big news.
There were also Russian ships spotted going back and forth over the area before the explosion.
I really don't know what to believe on this, it's very interesting.
this was never plausibly on behalf of russia and no country would do sth like that without checking back with the states - whose president btw basically just announced something like that would happen on television.
sometimes what you need isn't intel but common sense and some unbiased knowledge of contemporary politics and history.
Ukraine had just about nothing to lose and everything to gain from shutting off the EU from buying gas from their enemy.
a) it’s a bit fancy for Ukraine to do it, unnoticed tok
b) imagine if you were Putin and wanted any potential throne successor let go of the idea they would have the pipelines to barter with Germany? It’s not a completely outlandish thought, is it?
it isn't that difficult of a leap to see how it got done if you have any experience with technical diving.

i can't even understand this line of thought enough to form a response. if that's the best you can come up with for russia's motives then i'm 100% certain they didn't do it.
In fact, I’m proud my early reaction to the explosions was confusion.
I did put a solid “maybe” on either the US or Russia, along with a “possibly” for Ukraine.
Still not sure, but Ukraine is getting an increasing probability in my mind.
Do you think the powers that be don't have plans and contingencies in place for subsea internet cables?
I would be more concerned if they hadn't thought through these scenarios
Russian ships probably cut the Norwegian one to Svalbard.

The "plan" is to repair asap.
What do you mean? What plan? To do what?
It should not be surprising that such plans exist, rather it should be surprising if they do not exist
Point being the article is trying to make something extraordinary out of the expected. Why would we not expect the major players to have some plan, if not multiple plans?
Are you actually advocating to "memory hole" news that dont fit the narrative of "Ukraine best, Russia bad"
Yes, Russia is bad. But we should still know the truth.
