plmpsu··on Certificate-Based Authentication for S3 with MinIO
Minio's S3 implementation is file system based with object paths corresponding to file paths. This explains the issue you're describing.

Not to say that they can't work around this issue...

plmpsu··on Why and how to use service injection in Node.js
It sounds like you are doing DI without a framework. DI/IoC the pattern seems to be working for you fine if I'm reading your comment right.

Manually doing DI becomes interesting/challenging when not all of the injected objects are singletons (i.e., they are tied to a certain context) or when they have a lifecycle.

plmpsu··on Tests aren’t enough: Case study after adding type hints to urllib3
I don't understand your argument. Could you please explain it?
plmpsu··on Overhead of Returning Optional Values in Java and Rust
I agree. Add null checking at compile time with something like checkerframework to get the best of both worlds.
plmpsu··on HTTPWTF
In the same section, there's also a reference to the 101 status instead of 100.

plmpsu··on How can you make subjective time go slower?
"Dunbar loved shooting skeet because he hated every minute of it and the time passed so slowly. He had figured out that a single hour on the skeet-shooting range with people like Havermeyer and Appleby could be worth as much as eleven-times-seventeen years."

Catch-22

plmpsu··on Does Stress Impact Technical Interview Performance?
I would argue that the kind of stress involved is different. I.e., social stress, as I experience in whiteboard interviews, has nothing to do with the stress of an impending deadline.
plmpsu··on Sheryl Sandberg went from feminist hero to total sellout

plmpsu··on You Can Now Tell Facebook to Delete Its Internal Record of Your Face
What do you mean by not specifically identifying or recognizing these faces?

When a face -- which is unknown to Facebook -- is found in a photo, is that face used for graph building? Is a anonymous representation of it kept?

plmpsu··on Hearing your touch: A new acoustic side channel on smartphones
LineageOS has this as an option.

It's actually not so bad UX-wise.

plmpsu··on On whether changes in bedroom CO2 levels affect sleep quality
Very interesting.
plmpsu··on Why open office design makes people less productive
Can anyone chime in regarding the economics and cost savings of open floor plans vs. private per-team offices (or the like)?

As an employee working in an open space, their costs on subjective well being, quality of work & etc. are so obvious to me that I sometimes get upset that employers and I do not agree on the issue.

plmpsu··on Microwave Weapons Are Suspect in Ills of U.S. Embassy Workers
> If you put your head in a 1 kW microwave oven, and pulse modulated the magnetron, your could maybe get the effect. It would make an entertaining YouTube video.

Sound like an Infinite Jest footnote.

plmpsu··on Ask HN: Which search engine do you use, and why?
startpage.com as a proxy for Google results.
plmpsu··on Ask HN: What would you have asked Mark Zuckerburg?
Given all the talk and waving around of the Facebook ToS in the hearing, it would have been nice to have this question asked.
plmpsu··on Ask HN: What would you have asked Mark Zuckerburg?
Is Facebook collecting or storing data related to persons who have not agreed to Facebook's ToS and who have no Facebook account?
