A proper Sauna would have satisfied them both!
No, DDG bang operators don't let you do this. I want an SERP, not a shortcut to a single site's on-site search.
And that specifically blocked Pinterest, Quora, most non-personal “blogs”, etc.
People suggest DDG ! operators, but I don’t want to use a site’s (bad, single-site) search box. I want a multi-site SERP that only displays results from known good sites, which are customizable.
It's a long article, with multiple headings and short paragraphs for each. Your search terms will be a near-match for one of the headings. The problem is that heading is 3/4 of the way down the page, so you have to scroll past pages of introductory paragraphs and basic info about whatever you're searching for.
For example, for the search term:
> how long does icloud photo upload take
Included in the top results are the pages:
Which all fit the mold of blog post I'm describing. General, multi-heading pages about a particular topic that rank highly for a specific contained within.
The content, once you get to it, isn't necessarily bad. But what I want from the results is a single page / blog post with only the specific heading and paragraph. Or even better, the best Stack Exchange question and/or Reddit thread that fits the term.
One note: You.com seems to include Stack Overflow scrapers in the results. Would be better with those removed. These two results go the same content, one on SO and one scraped from it: https://i.imgur.com/TwvDIiC.png
Also, I've strongly indicated that I don't want to see this content by clicking the "X" every time I see one of these "question reply" posts. That probably hides that Page forever. But the next meme question page reply by my next boomer relative will pop up tomorrow. Facbook isn't correlating the fact that I want to see nothing from any of these clickbait pages.
Is there?
I've noticed wannabe influencers on Instagram including questions and polls with every one of their Stories. They're doing it to "juice the algorithm" by getting responses. That in turn theoretically gets them featured on the Explore Page or whatever. YouTubers do the same things, ending each video with a CTA question you should answer in the comments.
The Facebook question pages that boomers answer seem to just be doing the same thing, attracting comments and interactions and thus boosting the page.
The bigger question I have is why Facebook thinks I would be interested in seeing in my timeline that my 68 year old aunt has answered "Freddy Mercury" to some question about the best musical act they've seen live.
The "Q-A-Z" slope goes completely against the natural angle of your left finger curl. Same for every finger on your left hand.
The right hand gets things right with "U-J-M" etc. Nice finger curl with your hand in a natural position.
On normal keyboards we should be teaching and typing the "W-S-Z" (or even "E-S-Z") column with your left ring finger, not the completely perpendicular "W-S-X".
The Google result are all blogspam or sales pages for cheap shipped saunas. Lots of "IR" results. Phony health benefit pages. Stock photos solely of beautiful new hotel gyms.
I've noticed this problem with Google results for quite some time. Sadly, the new content being created of the top variety is mostly being done within private Facebook groups that can't be easily searched, linked, or archived.
What strikes me is how exhausting using Facebook is for these purposes.
To read any Group you are constantly tapping tiny a "View More Comments" button. Very hard to read FB as you would HN or a forum, despite some great Groups and information there. When you get to the bottom of a group post, it shows you an endless scroll of "similar" content from entirely separate groups. I hate the entire experience. Anything to get you to keep scrolling and see another sponsored post.
Marketplace started out as a modern, local, second-hand goods CL competitor, but has devolved into shipping new cheap meme items. My main Marketplace feed is now crap like Rick & Morty stickers. Or the constant sponsored ads for new furniture or other products. Very hard to use Marketplace how I want to, which is finding local used antiques and unique items. I really wish CL had adapted to the new mobile landscape and competition a decade ago.

Why does Reddit use AMP pages and a mobile site that look exactly the same? For speed/SEO benefits? Disabling AMP would still look mostly the same for normal Reddit users but would make "old." users much happier.
So why does Reddit use AMP at all? I can only understand AMP being good for some news site where it gives you them a mobile site design "for free".

I just checked the App Store for the first time since that update. The version number and release date remain the same. The only visible change is the new release text prepended with:
> This app has been updated by Apple to use the latest Apple signing certificate.
The three best options for unlimited data seem to be:
- Calyx Institute membership (Sprint)
- T-Mobile Home Internet
- $20 AT&T iPad Plan
What does "neutral trademark ownership" mean?
Can't stand horizontal scrolling to the beginning or end of the line to change a domain or parameter. Let me edit in multi-line mode when I tap on the URL.
I should figure out how to block elements like that, which of course in the current internet landscape have completely randomized DIV class names.
And I don't want only those big sites. I'd also like to see authored blogs, traditional forums, national newspapers, various wikis, etc.
Google results are currently awful, full of blogspam and Pinterest-mirrored images. I don't remember when this changed.
