This is one of the main reasons why I still use Firefox. Also in my experience Firefox address bar does a better job pulling urls from history based on the words you typed.
this is not an unresolvable issue though. Apple could force developers to make their payment option as the default payment option similar to how they forced devs to use Sign in with Apple (when they have third party login). Big companies like PayPal could provide an SDK which can be used by devs to complete trasaction similar to web. I could think of many more ways to solve this issue.
this reminds me of a time when i traveled to Canada from U.S and the customs dude wanted to see my return flight ticket. I handed over my phone without thinking much and i can see from the glare on his eyeglasses that he opened my Messages app and scrolled through them and also went inside my conversation with my Dad. it was a learning experience.
the more likely scenario is Paypal, Amazon etc. are going to provide SDKs and developer can use that for checkout instead of going through App Store.
this is disturbing but i'm not surprised. Modi will go to any extend to keep his power. People often claim BJP (ruling party) has a weak opposition but if it's so weak why do they even care about spying on the opposition leader? No matter who comes to the top, they are going to be spyed on by this government which is a shame.
I use Google maps which gets its job done and has offline support. I just wish they cleaned up the UI a bit and allowed me to download more area because right now I’ve to do it 3-4 times to get a size able chunk of a state.
Apple takes more than 30% cut for in-app purchases made in other countries. For example, an in-app-purchase (IAP) you sell in USD for $15.99 is translated to 1249 Indian Rupees and you get a proceed of 741 Rupees which is only 59%. So Apple keeps the rest 41%. Today's (when I wrote this) exchange rate shows approx. 76 rupees for 1 USD so the amount they charge the user is pretty accurate but Apple put so much wiggle room in their favor. This is true for other currencies as well.
