I thought Stripe was a real merchant account.
Unless building a nuke plant is a common thing where the crew that built a plant in Georgia can then go build one just like it in Alabama then one in Tennessee, then in Ohio, etc, then I don't see how building two plants with identical layouts can leverage economies of scale. For example: Wolf Creek NGS in Kansas and Calloway NGS in Missouri were apparently the first two plants in the US to be built using the same blueprints. If two more plants were built today with those same blueprints but by different construction crews who don't have any of the tribal knowledge from the construction of Wolf Creek and Calloway then what you have are four essentially bespoke plants that just happen to use the same blueprints.
This doesn't quite mesh with the slogan "of course it runs NetBSD"...
Is there a serious effort on this front? At the very least a mobile version of Electron[1] applications would be a great interim step: you just need a browser for the UI and performance-critical bits can be written in C/C++ for accuracy and speed. Ultimately a modular UI paradigm can replace the dependence on a browser but that is likely years down the road.
[1] Cordova used to be the model; Ionic's Capacitor project is far more advanced but targeting iOS and Android specifically.
Personally I think it would be awesome if Bitwarden gave you the option to export your password vault as a KDBX4 file. What's the best way to fund a bounty program for adding this feature to Bitwarden?
When the Mozilla Foundation launched their open source web browser they initially called it "Phoenix" (an apt name considering it was rising from the ashes of Netscape Navigator) but changed the name to "Firefox" because in software the name Phoenix is a database.
Just because Pine is "done" it's not dead. I hold the Pine email client in esteem and don't want to have to suffix it with "email client" just because someone else wanted to name their app with the same noun.
