Doubt.
Even to those of us who are not hardcore cinemaphiles the horrible writing is obvious very, very much.
This article seems to be a damage control article for this Jen Salke so that she doesn't get sacked for this horror of a show, I mean how is it possible to have such terrible screenwriting?
450M$ and they couldn't hire another more experienced screenwriter to atleast go through the script to point out the stupidities?
There have to be some serious egos/SJWs involved in this.
Here is a potential explanation for why this shitshow of a tv series happened:
TLDR:
>> Then #MeToo swept through Hollywood like a typhoon. The head of Prime Video got caught up in it and had to be fired. Jennifer Salke was brought in to start making Woke content and one of her first decisions was to shitcan Conan on grounds of toxic masculinity. Put a gigantic pin in that one, we are circling back to it. She replaced it with Wheel of Time which is almost but not quite as big a disaster as The Rings of Power.
So basicaly Jen Stalke screwed up already once badly with the Wheel of Time, I think Bezos is just using this is a SJW excuse get-out-of-jail free card since if he gets on the SJWs bad side he can always point to Jen Stalke and her SJW shows and say "see, I'm on your side, look at how much money I gave to your woke productions, stop attacking me! I'm a friend of wokeness!"

Nice.
OpenAI shitting their pants even more.
Also: using carbon/nitrogen dating to detect what we ate goes back max 100k years, so we don't know what we ate before that based on the bones.
Honey was pretty much the only ancient high-carb food.
All modern high-starchy plants (rice, potatoes,...) are a modern "invention".
Ancient fruit also had hardly any sugar and other than berries it didn't exist in any remotely similar form that we know today.
Also using just one group that exists today (Hadza) is ridicoulous to generalize this to 100k+ years ago.
These people usually say "see, we eat high carb because of dental residue from starches" but they forget that those starches at that time were extremely low carb.
Or are NPCs aware just enough to know they are the punchline of the NPC joke?
Though since the majority of women also eat meat this ad will fizzle out.
So for you the protein doesn't seem to be a huge concern in the big picture.
Even wiki has this info: >> Diet may be a modifiable risk factor for the development of Alzheimer's disease. The Mediterranean diet, and the DASH diet are both associated with less cognitive decline.
Really? If my wife started feeling better due to a dietary change that goes against what doctors say I would be delighted!
Would you prefer that you wife keeps feeling shitty, but hey, atleast she is following the advice of "professionals"?
The N=1 where N=1 got better is all that matters! Because that N=1 is you or your wife!
It's known that bodies of children can "compensate" in later periods for the lack in previous periods. This is most noticable in gymnasts who relatively more often experience a delay in puberty due to their extreme training regiment, but if they stop the body "catches up".
Protein is the only macronutrient that was shown to increase child height. Fats and carbs do not seem to have an effect on child height.
It's a known phenomena that when eg Japanese parents move to US their children grow taller than their Japanese peers, even though both parents are Japanese.
Obviously it's hard to say if protein is the only cause in this, it could also be others. Some people "blame" growth hormones in milk, no idea if that has any merit to it.
But the point is: nutrition DOES affect child height to a certain degree, not just the genes of the parents.
Read the book!
You truly are peak academic! Credentialism all the way!
Also: Weston Price's book has TONS of photos comparing teeth of people on an industrial diet and those eating modern garbage and the difference in teeth is night and day! Look them up!
Do you academics not consider real world evidence as evidence anymore?
Or do you people only consider p-value hacked studies to be "proof"?
I wrote it twice above already and you always "missed it": obviously we aren't confirming these theories since everyone eats carbs nowadays!
I told him that flossing is a band-aid solution that hides the real cause underneath: sugar, which destroys teeth.
Imagine someone says "I inject herion each day but since I take some pills I can handle it a bit better".
Is the solution here to take the pills? Or to stop the heroin injection?
Are you not able to see that?
This also DOES connect to the main thread: if you don't eat sugar -> your teeth aren't destroyed -> if your teeth aren't destroyed -> you don't get infection -> if you don't get infection -> no gum disease -> and if the study is true -> then no gum disease -> less chance of Alzheimer.
Therefore no sugar -> less chance of Alzheimer as per the study.
If you did you would never wrote a comment like that.
Cavities are not permanent and they heal, read the book.
You obviously "missed" the point where I explicitly wrote above that "if you keep eating the modern food they will never heal".
You are also conflating "worn down teeth" vs "cavities which cause infection". These are totaly different things. You can have heavily worn down teeth but ZERO infection.
Also you wrote: "The comment about "crossbread/gmo-ed" is another tell.".
Really? Is it? Do you not know that gluten strength was greatly increased already in the last ~150 years in wheat because it was bread to withstand higher wind speeds so that it can be grown in windy locations? And how do you make wheat sustain higher winds? By making it's "bones" stronger. And what are the "bones" of wheat? Gluten!
The gluten in modern wheat is much stronger than the gluten of the wheat people ate ~200 years.
So the wheat we eat is already much different than it was 200 years ago.
So much for the "crossbread/gmo tell" lol. Do some research first, it's not that hard.
Then when eg they went to cities, where sugary jam and white bread was avaiable, their teeth got destroyed.
Those who didn't eat that food for a long time and returned to eating their old-school food saw their teeth HEAL back, so this belief that "teeth can't heal from cavities" is bullshit.
But obviously if you keep on eating modern food the destruction of teeth is faster than they can heal.
Those who don't belive that may wish to read "weston price nutrition and physical degeneration".
Modern food (sugar) is the entry point for teeth destruction.
Therefore the solution is not flossing, it's the removal of modern sugary foods from the diet and a reversion to foods from ~200 years ago (this might also include the elimination of white flour and using oldschool wholegrain flour, spelt seems to be the best one since as far as I know it's been the least crossbread/gmo-ed).
Also those "sad dramatic slow motion death scenes" of those elf character dying were peak stupidity: we don't even care about them since they had 30 seconds of screen time and you give us slow motion sad dramatic scenes as if Frodo himself would deserve on his hypotethical death...
That being said, if it's gonna be on the level on The Rings Of Power cringefest they might as well not make it.
Amazon's TV series department seems more like a SJW/Wokeness apologee factory so that Amazon can always point and say "see, we are on your side".
Yes, an even faster way for the FEDs to print more money, since now they don't event need to print it, only copy paste it...
So in general it's very hard to get good data on life expectancy on these fringe groups.
You mixed many words + potato has practicaly 0 fructose compared to an apple.
It has nothing to do with saturated fats being pushed in.
It's more likely that foods high in saturated fats cause inflammation of the blood vessels.
But there is no difference between saturated and unsaturated fats since they are all transported in lipoproteins once they are in the blood.
The issue is inflamation, not the actual lipoprotein cargo (fat, cholesterol,..) that gets pushed in.
The real question is what causes the blood vessels to get damaged.
First they gave one batch of rabits only saturated fat -> the developed atherosclerosis.
Then they gave the other batch unsaturated fats -> no atherosclerosis.
Now you might think, "ok, saturated fat bad."
But wait!
Then they removed ALL fat from the 3rd batch of rabbits and you'd expected no atherosclerosis: but NO! Even at no fat the rabits developed atherosclerosis.
This debunks that long term low-carb is unhealthy.
The real question is what causes the blood vessel walls to get damaged (since the scar tissue is the healing response of the body, but if the damage keeps on piling it grows too much instead of being gradually reduced over time).
The problem is that there are millions of causes of inflamation etc...
In general the best answer is "modern diet" full of sugars + fat at the same time.
Carbs in high doses are poisonus, there is a reason the the lives of diabetics end in limb amputation, blindness and severe pain due to nerve damage due to sugar destroying them from the inside out...
