I grew up 2 states away from my parents siblings, I couldn't pick out most of my aunt's/uncles from a lineup let alone my cousins. My kids live close to the same distance away from their cousins, but we make a huge deal to make time to see them.

My kids and their cousins are all great friends and it's well worth the sacrifice

EVs have bigger capacity than my off-grid house. No way I could keep one charged while also trying to power my house. In the winter my standby generator has to kick on just to keep my house powered. It's not even a matter of adding more panels, just living in the mountains I only get so much sun in the shorter winter days... And that's if I have clear skies and without snow covering the panels

AntennaPod is what I use as well, but it does really kill my battery for whatever reason.

I had a boss at Yahoo who gave our QA to another team because "Facebook doesn't use QA, we shouldn't either". I can't remember if it was Facebook or MS, but he was willing to buy all of us a book talking about how amazing it was.

Long story short, it wasn't. It was like taking away a crutch. Of course we could have been more diligent about testing before having QA validate it, but it slowed development down so much trying to learn all the things we never thought to test that QA did automatically.

Maybe Refact? They have a self hosted version that can index your repos. They have their own LLM or you can use others. Nice tooling for VS Code as well

I think the best bang for the buck is probably a Mac studio with as much ram as you can afford.

I bought an RTX A2000 (12GB VRAM), and it's fine for 7B models and some 13B models with 4 bit quantization, but I kind of regret not getting something with more VRAM.

I actually just bought a 6th gen ipod classic. Converted it to flash and put a new battery in. It's definitely an experience, but it's been a fun ride so far

I have used Yabai + skhd previously solely to allow me to "cycle" my virtual desktops. Disabling SIP to make this happen was always a fun challenge on my work Macbook. Is there an alternative at this point in time?

I don't want targeted videos. I don't even want them to know I exist. Even if I never used YouTube, that is impossible.

Their tracking is all encompassing and invasive, even without a Google account. They are a menace to the world and it should be an obligation to block their ads. If Google disappeared tomorrow the world would be better off.
