nomoreplease··on DaisyUI – Tailwind CSS Components
Really? You can layer classes or even use IDs for something super specific. The only time I use overrides/in lines are when I’m testing/troubleshooting.
nomoreplease··on Life of a Container (2020)
Not OP but I also interview. I see CGroups and namespaces is a follow up to “how does it work or how is it usually isolated?” And I ask “why would I use it?” Or “when would I choose containers over vm?” Or vice versa to get to actual architectural decisions

The wrong answer usually involves a lot of hemming and hawing

nomoreplease··on Google and Facebook mandate vaccines for employees at U.S. offices
Current research shows that the previously infected’s antibodies are equal-to or better than the vaccine. So previously infected should be sufficient, yet I expect these companies not to care about that
nomoreplease··on Google and Facebook mandate vaccines for employees at U.S. offices
I’m not sure why you’re downvoted, this is an accurate depiction. The vaccine does not prevent infection/transmission, despite lay people commonly believing it does.
nomoreplease··on Google Offices to Mandate Vaccines
You’re claiming people are anti-vax without arguing against their arguments or data, saying they are concealing their intentions
nomoreplease··on Google Offices to Mandate Vaccines
Your comment is disheartening. Pretending there are absolutely zero side-effects to vaccines (or any medical practices) is anti-science
nomoreplease··on Open Letter: Replace the Proposed New California Math Curriculum Framework
The original proposed framework that intends to make math worse for unrealistic reasons
nomoreplease··on Open Letter: Replace the Proposed New California Math Curriculum Framework
This shouldn’t be flagged IMO. I read through the proposal and it’s unbelievably disconnected from reality
nomoreplease··on Qodana: Code Quality Monitoring Platform
> coding standards

Coding standards for NASA certainly isn’t bike shedding, especially if they focus on reliability or security

nomoreplease··on Design an Enclosure Using Photogrammetry
This is the type of article that hacker news was made for!

It would be cool if you could print console controllers that mold to the players exact hand dimensions (a teenager and adult have very different hands)

nomoreplease··on Google Drive bans distribution of “misleading content”
Sure, someone can frame it that way. Someone else can also frame it as respecting privacy
nomoreplease··on Google Drive bans distribution of “misleading content”
There was no appeal to free speech. You’re creating a straw man
nomoreplease··on Google Drive bans distribution of “misleading content”
> in a situation where they fundamentally can't.

I’m sorry but they can stay neutral by just not reading/blocking people’s Docs

nomoreplease··on Poll: 1.8M Americans have turned down jobs due to unemployment benefits
Does this count as a massive scale UBI experiment? Does it confirm the concern that people would stop working
nomoreplease··on Remote code execution in cdnjs of Cloudflare
I assume they could. Meanwhile, I’ve used the git-secrets tool
nomoreplease··on California breaks 1 GW energy storage milestone
Off-topic but reflecting on the PV in the domain name:

What kind of home PV solar panels should a person ask a contractor for? How do you know they're giving you quality rated panels?

nomoreplease··on Analyzing the legal implications of GitHub Copilot
And "and to use your code to improve their products and features,” does not explicitly include "or to create new products and features".

CoPilot is a NEW product, not an existing product (Github itself) that the ToS gives permission to improve.

nomoreplease··on Google is capping Meet’s group video calls to an hour for free accounts
So this news story is meaningless?
nomoreplease··on One by One, My Friends Were Sent to the Camps
After visiting Auschwitz, I expected (or maybe hoped) that the world would never let it happen again.

“How could they do this?”, People asked.

“That would never happen today” people murmured.

Yet, here we are. Reading the 15th article about it, while the White House deletes tweets that likely anger the CCP

They should be removed from most favored nation status.

Governments could do a lot more but don’t

nomoreplease··on Apple MagSafe Battery Pack
> If plugged into the phone, it can charge the battery (is this the first use of "reverse charging" for the iPhone?)

If so, I want to wirelessly charge the iPhone while the iPhone charges the battery pack!

Someone will beat me to it and make a YouTube video about perpetual motion/charging

nomoreplease··on Is π the Same in Every Universe?
As an American, I have some distant hope that we will switch .. but no sooner than the year 2050
nomoreplease··on Podswap: Keep airpods alive and out of the landfill
I wonder if this was configurable, if that would get better reviews than both?
nomoreplease··on Podswap: Keep airpods alive and out of the landfill
Why 80%? Is 100% dangerous?
nomoreplease··on Chime has been suddenly closing accounts, not returning customers’ money
There is fdic insurance up to $250k
nomoreplease··on Theme UI: The Design Graph Framework
I dont understand what 'graph' has to do with this. Could you explain?
nomoreplease··on GitHub Copilot regurgitates valid secrets
I assume you are referring to Tay? That was wild

nomoreplease··on The Dawn of Formalized Mathematics
> Mixing romantic humanism with technical misunderstandings is no good.

What are you referring to with this comment?

nomoreplease··on Jim Whitehurst to step down as IBM President
Coincidental yes. I was not implying causation.
nomoreplease··on Jim Whitehurst to step down as IBM President
When I talk to former IBMers (including a VP), it seems much of the outward “success” there is financial engineering, yet the business is crumbling in reality. Jim leaving amidst a chaotic, failed email migration that is impacting sales is not surprising
nomoreplease··on Google reports soaring attrition among Black women
Are these based on self-identification? How do you account for that in the analysis?
