The problem was in the scheduling of personnel and trains. The train schedule in the Netherlands is not human memorable. This is something they tried to correct in the past but was met with protest from employees because then they would only have one route on a day which would be boring.
In Europe we have grocery delivery and healthy salads and fresh meals in the supermarket. Some require micro waving, other an oven. So if you do the bare minimum in cooking (ie pop it in the oven/microwave) you can have a meal for somewhere between 5-10 euro's.
They are off course not perfectly healthy, just like restaurant food they are heavy on salt.
Battles are for most people a huge energy drain, which effectively means that prolonged battle will tear a family apart.
So what is the most important for you? Family, justice, compensation or prevention.
Choose one and be happy if you achieve another.
Personally I would go with family as primary and prevention as secondary. That does not mean the other choices are in some way less, it just reflects my personal beliefs.
With Threema[1] you don't need to reveal a phone number. Great app love it, just doesn't have the userbase to drop WhatsApp. Paying for a messenger is asking too much apparently.
This. Just this.
I met my wife on a 2 week group vacation (sight seeing in Africa). Basically low pressure but with lot of interaction. We liked each other and started seeing each other after the vacation. End of story. Bars and clubs never worked for me, sport did though :-)
Ultimately it's about education, tools are never the entire answer.
That said, I point them to Apple ecosystem, all mail is gmail / gsuite with the web interface as the client, this works quite well for spam and phishing. I have not encountered something for the sms and WhatsApp phishing, there I still have to rely only on education.
I gave up on organizing, I try for form sake but have everything indexed with DEVONthink. For e-mail I use Mailmate which has a great search function. Together they make sure I can find my stuff wherever it may be.
Works like a charm, but it's an apple only solution.
Before stating the bloody obvious that it's a luxury position, I don't want to work for any company who doesn't have a positive social impact. This could be in any form, I just don't believe in the "it should all be profit for the shareholders" attitude.
The practice in Europe is such that as a large company there is no excuse for urgent operational reasons / social factors, these could have been mitigated by more personnel. A fact well established at least in the Dutch court and I assume valid in the rest of Europe.
Get a protonvpn account and protonmail address. Make a linux desktop VM without credentials and keep that safe. When you wan to search for something make a copy, and nuke it afterwards. Obviously a live cd would work too.
If you need to secure files use the proton drive beta for example.
The proton suite of tools is actually quite good and better then DIY or several cheap as dirt providers.
i have a copy on dropbox, a backup of that folder on onedrive with arq backup. For easy viewing I also upload them to smugmug and make sure they are tagged correctly.
It works mostly in that we can find photo's most of the time and have not yet lost a single one.
That's not a problem but a feature. The huge majority of users just wants something that works (tm). I used to jailbreak and root android and whatever. My phone has become such an integral part in my daily routine, I want it to work and not have to expand effort in keeping it working. And I'll pay happily for it, and yes even the inflated prices Apple uses, because stuff keeps working for years without me thinking about it.
If I want to tinker I'll get a PI or some other cheap hardware to play around with.
It are somewhat seperate problems. But let's begin with ad's, tracking and malware/bots/whatever uses a domainname. You have two different options SaaS and selfhosted. It's a matter of opinion but I would say PiHole (selfhosted) or NextDNS (SaaS) a no cost SaaS would be using the AdGuard DNS servers in your router instead of the ones of your ISP.
Personally I use NextDNS, it's robust and thanks to the options I can tweak it to my needs without having to upgrade / update stuff.
The second part, keeping my network secure is a bit more involved, it can mean anything from simply having different wireless networks for different purposes (IOT, video surveillance and guests are common) to packet inspection and intrusion detection. Mostly, use the seperate wireless network strategy and forget about the rest, the maintenance is too high and the gain too low for personal networks.
Both my father and great grandmother died with the help of the docter. The first due to quality of life issues related to advanced parkinson and the latter due to advanced cancer with only a lot of pain too look forward too.
Assisted dying should be a function of healthcare. I like the way we have set it up in the Netherlands, there are strict guidelines, there is oversight and it's process to make an informed decision.
I see a lot of CYA, this only works to a certain point depending on your manager his/her people skills.
There are basically two paths to stay financially safe, do whatever it takes to keep working there by kissing ass or whatever. Or get a nice exit check, for this talk to a lawyer. His behaviour may be against the law if proven and may enable that check.
I did this a while ago for my own and my wife's email and ten years ago I changed from .nl to .com for the domainname which is effectively the same thing :-)
For both it's forward and forget, I changed some services to reflect the mail change, most I didn't bother. After 5 maybe 6 years no e-mail came through the old address anymore.
So if you have the time and the couple of $$ to keep it up it's a minor issue, it's self cleaning to a large extent.
Yeah not surprising, MS is pushing azure as hard as it can, to the point of given heavy office 365 discounts so on the short term it doesn't make business sense to move out of azure anymore.
I use Arq on my windows machine, there are no traps that I'm aware off. On my linux machine i use rclone to sync the data with s3. Had no issues what so ever with getting stuff back.
