mbrutsch··on BuzzFeed Says Posts Were Deleted Because of Advertising Pressure
I know another website that does this...
mbrutsch··on Show HN: Rabbits – Send an email to get any grunt-work programming job completed
I suspect they'd get more applications for suppliers than requests for work.
mbrutsch··on Curt Schilling Fights Back Against Daughter’s Twitter Trolls
Yes, please, let's start policing thoughts.
mbrutsch··on Curt Schilling Fights Back Against Daughter’s Twitter Trolls
That's what I did, and it worked for me. If ViolentAcrez can get another job, these mooks can, too. I have no patience for crybabies.
mbrutsch··on Curt Schilling Fights Back Against Daughter’s Twitter Trolls
Schilling is just being a crybaby, and you are flat insane. Man up, for Christ's sake, and stop being little babies!
mbrutsch··on Jon Ronson: How a Tweet Can Ruin Your Life
Hank, It Gets Better. Trust me on this. :)
mbrutsch··on “Warning: Do Not use my mirrors/services until I have reviewed the situation”
The problem with "how much" is this: as the dollar amount of loss increases, the distance between "the owners of the money" and "the people responsible for keeping it safe" also increases. I make sure I know where my wallet is, but Jeff in IT won't lose billions (or a clueless CIO, for that matter).
mbrutsch··on Neal Stephenson Joins Magic Leap
Only if they want me to care.
mbrutsch··on Yahoo Starts Prompting Chrome Users to “Upgrade” to Firefox
I use FF daily, for work, and wouldn't use anything else.
mbrutsch··on Can Authorities Cut Off Utilities And Pose As Repairmen To Search A Home?
As hard as it is to believe, in all my encounters with the police over the past few years, they have been courteous and professional, and, as far as I can tell, completely honest. Go figure.
mbrutsch··on Can Someone Be Too Smart to Be a Cop?
Uh, police detectives?
mbrutsch··on Show HN: GoldenLayout – JavaScript Layout Manager
That guy's wound a little too tightly.
mbrutsch··on Ask HN Mods: Why Do You Completely Change What Users Submit?
> Do people pay attention to who submits items?

Would we be having this conversation if they didn't?

mbrutsch··on Goldman Sachs Demanding E-Mail be Deleted
The VA's internal system also had "email" like this (before email was widely used), where we could unsend messages.

Fun fact: The VA's system was called Decentralized Hospital Computer Program (DHCP). When that acronym was overloaded by Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, they changed it - to VistA. Either they had really bad luck picking names, or were very prescient.

mbrutsch··on RunPee – Because movie theaters don't have pause buttons
I've been using it for years, and it's awesome.
mbrutsch··on Who am I: A mind reader (don't forget to view source)
Yep. I took me a few minutes to figure out why it wasn't working for me...
mbrutsch··on Hello from 1978
We used TOPS-10 and TOPS-20 at USAF Systems Command in the early 1980s. Good times...
mbrutsch··on How WePay Failed Eden Alexander
> Upon reviewing payments starting May 15, 2014 WePay discovered tweets from others retweeted by Eden Alexander offering adult material in exchange for donations.

So essentially, she repeated something someone else said, is that about it?

mbrutsch··on Rand Paul: Show Us the Drone Memos
> Once the killing of US citizen without a trial is accepted as undesirable

Sadly, I suspect the wind will blow the other way on this one.

mbrutsch··on How a German Soda Became Hackers' Fuel of Choice
Easier to obtain, I'm sure. What I wouldn't give for a Modafinil scrip...
mbrutsch··on Sketch 3 released
I suppose in the same manner that yours did. I understand now that opinions are not welcome here; I will strive to limit my future comments to verifiable facts.
mbrutsch··on Amazon Snags Older HBO Shows For Web Streaming
> they're competing with illegal p2p technology.

The technology isn't "illegal", but some uses for it are. Big difference.

mbrutsch··on Sketch 3 released
I am someone who does not get excited about software that's limited to a platform I don't use.
mbrutsch··on Mozilla Moving Forward
The way I understand it, you're free to say what you please, and free to get called out for it. Having the internet harass your business is a distraction, regardless of how "right" it may be, and it's understandable that concessions mus be made to keep the business running smoothly, lest you endanger the livelihoods of everyone who works there.
mbrutsch··on Sketch 3 released
Meh, Mac.
mbrutsch··on Drop Dropbox
That was quick and painless. I was already using gdrive for my work files; downloaded and installed gdrive sync in about 5 minutes, and now I have over 3 times the free space I did with Dropbox. Thanks, Condy!
mbrutsch··on Drop Dropbox
Sadly, most Americans don't hold themselves responsible for the actions of our duly elected leaders. It's how we sleep at night.

brb, dropping Dropbox...

mbrutsch··on .ng is the most dangerous cctld
How stupid would you have to be, to pay $10,000 for a domain stolen from the rightful owner, when they could just turn around and steal it back from you?
mbrutsch··on 0^0
It took Alfred Whitehead and Bertrand Russell 379 pages to prove that it "logically follows", and that was before they even defined addition! http://quod.lib.umich.edu/u/umhistmath/aat3201.0001.001/401?...
mbrutsch··on Nanoparticle Temporarily Violates the Second Law of Thermodynamics
> However, when we zoom into the microscopic world of atoms and molecules, this law softens up and looses its absolute strictness.

Hard to take a science article seriously when they write like an 8th grader.
