mbrochh··on Scientists discover links between Alzheimer's disease and gut microbiota
The keto community already knows that Alzheimers is a metabolic disease.

Don't eat carbs, have an active livestyle = don't become insulin resistant and you won't get Alzheimers.

In the meantime I'll just keep watching how long researchers are going to dance around the bush until they finally get it...

mbrochh··on Roundup herbicide ingredient connected to epidemic chronic kidney disease
Your argument falls apart when you realise that grains are not in any way shape or form part of a proper human diet.

All those bellies that are filled with grains may feel full and therefore won't likely cause much trouble for the elites, but they are really just slowly rotting away and dying (and generating even more income streams for big pharma, owned by the... elites).

mbrochh··on LinkedIn is laying off nearly 700 employees
The site has always been the cancer that you described here. No idea how you ever got decent use out of it.
mbrochh··on Can't be fucked: Underrated cause of tech debt
I take it, Steve Jobs must have absolutely fucking hated IKEA furniture? :)
mbrochh··on Just normal web things
One of the main reasons I fell in love with Remix. It makes React feel like proper HTML based web dev again.
mbrochh··on LazyVim
Nonsense. I've been using Vim for 15 years and I don't have any special keybindings. It absolutely does not "suck out of the box".
mbrochh··on First 'tooth regrowth' medicine moves toward clinical trials in Japan
This is not normal. It is 100% your diet.

Eat a carnivore diet and your tooth issues will go away. At least try to eat only real foods, never add any added sugar into anything and avoid all processed foods (treat rice and pasta as processed foods as well, they are not real foods!).

There are plenty of books out there that show that for all indigenous tribes, as soon as they got into contact with western civilization and started eating a carb heavy diet (beer & grains), their teeth rotted away within one generation.

mbrochh··on Fake reviews are illegal and subject to big fines under new FTC rules
Bingo. This ruling will change absolutely nothing.
mbrochh··on Apollo is dead. Long live Apollo
I've deleted my Reddit account last week, after 13 years. So far, surprisingly, I don't miss it at all.
mbrochh··on Twitter now requires an account to view tweets
If every AI company pointed their scrapers to archive.org, that site would go down immediately as well.

This is just kicking the can down the road.

We have a major structural problem now. We want data to be free and machine readable, but no startup (and even a giant like Twitter) can afford the server cost to withstand all those machines.

Mullvad and Proton have pretty good reputation, no?

You think they are honeypots?

mbrochh··on US urged to reveal UFO evidence after claim that it has intact alien vehicles
Just look at his eyes during the interview. The guy is CLEARLY lying and spelling out learned phrases. It's all a big show. There are no UFOs and there never will be.
mbrochh··on Apple unveils new Mac Studio and brings Apple Silicon to Mac Pro
They only mentioned "transformer model" several times and one other type of model for generating our avatar (forgot which type that is).
mbrochh··on Dolphin on Steam Indefinitely Postponed
Huh? The sequel is the perfect video game sequel and improves on a once in a decade masterpiece in every possible way.
mbrochh··on Deep sleep may be the best defense against Alzheimer’s
Same here. I've quit coffee about 15 times in the last 10 years.

EVERY. SINGLE. TIME, the result is the same: high blood pressure, bad sleep, constant lethargy (which can only be fixed by consuming more coffee), frequent headaches... all goes away after one week of detox.

mbrochh··on Deep sleep may be the best defense against Alzheimer’s
The best defense against Alzheimer's is avoiding carbs and insulin resistance!
mbrochh··on We will be shutting down neeva.com
I don't think your argument holds.

When people experience search degradation (which I definitely do), they experience that while using the product EXACTLY like they did for years. Why else would they experience the degradation. It is most striking when something that used to work suddenly doesn't work any more.

mbrochh··on Sam Altman goes before US Congress to propose licenses for building AI
I hope it is slowly starting to become clear that this Sam is not our friend...
mbrochh··on Kids who get smartphones earlier become adults with worse mental health

It's not only kids. It's everyone.

mbrochh··on Dell goes back on WFH pledge, forces employees to come back to the office
Dude, get out!
mbrochh··on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Release
Of course it is a copy of the initial formula... just like EVERY direct sequel to pretty much every video game ever made.

TOTK is just bigger and better than BOTW in every conceivable way. It's the perfect video game sequel.

mbrochh··on When you lose the ability to write, you also lose some of your ability to think
No idea what you are doing there, I've been using ChatGPT Pro and Copilot since four weeks and it literally blows my mind every single day.

Give it a Django model and ask it to create a data visualisation. It'l perform complex ORM queries with filters, annotations and aggregations, then load it into a pandas dataframe, then create more columns in the dataframe, does more aggregations, then spits out matplotlib code to draw the chart. The time typing the prompt is time I would have needed even in the pre-GPT-era, since I would have to think about what I want to achieve anyways, now I'm typing it into ChatGPT, which makes the thinking process more structured as well!

I have built more tools in the last three weeks (for work and personal) than I have in the last three years combined. All thanks to OpenAI's brain constantly pushing me into the right direction.

mbrochh··on Get The TLDR Of Any YouTube Video
I see no way to avoid this. There is simply too much content out there. I have created this summarizer for myself last week and my productivity went through the roof. My Youtube Watchlist shrank from 50 videos, some of them being in there for more than a year, to zero.

In all cases, the summary that I got was perfectly fine and satisfied my curiosity about the topic.

We have to learn how to deal with this new world. People want raw information, they don't want to look at a talking heads artificially spreading out that information into 30-60 minute videos when the actual facts can be summed up and consumed in 20 seconds.

mbrochh··on Engineers develop water filtration that removes “forever chemicals”
None. People eating carbs while sitting all day long causes obesity, not trace amounts of some chemicals.
mbrochh··on Dropbox telemetry can't be disabled
Yea same. Have Dropbox on all my macs, ipads and iphones, never a single issue whatsoever.
mbrochh··on Use of antibiotics in farming ‘endangering human immune system’
Same in Singapore. No matter what you have, the docs will throw antibiotics at you.
mbrochh··on Mass layoffs and absentee bosses create a morale crisis at Meta
There truly is no value in crypto. But try researching again and see if you can find any useful value in Bitcoin.
mbrochh··on React is holding me hostage
I don't know. The guy just doesn't like hooks? I think hooks are absolutely amazing. I'm in charge of a very large codebase. We are currently migrating it from CRA to Remix, about 40% done. When I compare my Remix code with the old code, it's EVEN BETTER than the old stuff. Despite the gigantic codebase, I am always able to figure out what is going on (thanks to hooks, just read the function from top to bottom), where the data comes from, where it goes to. It's just all around a good developer experience. I have a feeling this guy just yearns back to simpler days where websites where static HTML & CSS.

I have also been able to consistently hire absolute greenhorns right out of tech bootcamps with zero formal computer science training and they were able to build features that made our company real money and push to production within the first two weeks. React can't be that bad.

Now that we threw out react-hook-forms (Remix does it all fine with default form APIs), Apollo (don't need their caching any more, so just sending plain GQL requests via fetch does the job), Redux (Context API is just fine), emotion (TailwindCSS is so so so so so much better)... our Remix codebase is basically pure HTML and Tailwind's css classes. It's a bliss.
