kwyjibo··on The Facebook Lawsuit: Everybody Calm Down and Remember Your 1L Contracts Class
Just because you were promised a part of "stolen" property doesn't mean that you are entitled to it afterwards when it gets returned. All their anger should go against Zuckerberg promising parts he wasn't entitled to, if this turns out to be true!

Let's see how this goes out :-)

kwyjibo··on The Facebook Lawsuit: Everybody Calm Down and Remember Your 1L Contracts Class
This doesn't affect the employees, just the investors. You can't blaim Paul Ceglia for Zuckerberg trying to trick him out.
kwyjibo··on Want to Know How VCs Calculate Valuation Differently from Founders?
Well if you have raised 6 millions and you sell the company for 10 million, and still manage to get 1.6 million, then I think you made a very good deal.
kwyjibo··on Facebook Lawyer `Unsure' Whether Founder Mark Zuckerberg Signed Contract
No suprise for me. There were already a few posts on hacker news about Facebook's and Zuckerberg's history, and this is just the creme de la creme.
kwyjibo··on RIM on Apple's claims of Blackberry Bold signal loss
They should sue Apple for false claims.
kwyjibo··on Apple’s Antenna Design and Test Labs
Why can't they leave the Blackberry and all the other mobile phones out of the game?
kwyjibo··on This was a triumph.

kwyjibo··on This was a triumph.
In the last thread they said that they are spending over 250.000$ a year just in servers. They could save huge amounts of money if they would just switch to rented servers.
kwyjibo··on This was a triumph.
So the newly acquired cash is dumped into amazon EC2 again...
kwyjibo··on Reddit needs help
You don't seem to really trying. You could be moving everything to one host and still be saving money.
kwyjibo··on First eBay seller to be prosecuted for false bidding
I don't see a problem there. He still has to pay the ebay fees and everything, so he will loose anyway.

And he won't bid on the item himself if he thinks it's an adaquate price.

kwyjibo··on VoltDB. Speed = 100x MySQL & 13x Cassandra & 45x Oracle
Voltdb = memory only database, thus unfair comparision...
kwyjibo··on Google update on China
And you think this will work and be accepted...?
kwyjibo··on I own you, and you're easily replaceable.
I finished my studies at the ETH a few years ago, and heard at that time that this was the normal case for chemistry students here as well (at least I was being told) doing a phd.

I guess these students must have been from his group as well :-)

kwyjibo··on You don’t need a password. Posterous fail.
No, they don't.
kwyjibo··on Ask HN: Prgmr is unreliable. Please advise on VPS hosting.
In europe: ovh, gandi, or hetzner (they will also offer VPS soon). They are cheaper than rackspace, linode, etc... , and it's not a 2 man shop.
kwyjibo··on New Adobe Flash 0day, have a nice weekend
I used foxitreader as well, until they had that feature that they would execute whatever command on your computer and you couldn't disable it... (and you could do this, or at least add a warning in adobe's reader)
kwyjibo··on Google ditches Windows on security concerns
Just imagine all their machines were running debian linux with the wrongly patched openssl binary. About 1024 different private/public keys to rule them all :-)
kwyjibo··on Reddit's unpaid "internship" offer is apparently against labor laws
They don't have any money to pay the interns (http://www.reddit.com/r/blog/comments/c7vdo/call_for_interns...) , but have money for 2 offices and money to hire a lawyer to check if their internships are legal.
kwyjibo··on Bending over: How to sell to large companies
You could have hired somebody else to handle the hassle dealing with them.
kwyjibo··on LifeLock CEO’s Identity Stolen 13 Times
It's really funny that a SSN is enough in the USA to get somebody else in so much trouble.

Doesn't work in the other countries, as long as you don't send in copies of your passport or identity card to claim a fake lottery win ;).

kwyjibo··on Microsoft Cross-browser Test Results Summary
What about the older versions of firefox, opera, etc...

Wouldn't the users that use an outdated version of Internet Explorer also use an outdated version of an alternative browser, if they had used this browser in the beginning.

kwyjibo··on Top 50,000 paying Adsense keywords (purchased from a shady looking website)
It's not a fact, it's a database and databases are protected by law.
kwyjibo··on Jason Calacanis at his finest
Is 2 weeks notice common in the USA? Here in Europe it's 1 month or 3 months, depending on what contract you have.
kwyjibo··on 23andme for only $99 today only
Maybe they don't have enough genome research result data for Indian or chinese people, so it wouldn't make much sense to sell a product without being able to show results.
kwyjibo··on Mac OS X SSD tweaks
My X25-m died after 3 months of use, and I had the hd nearly full.. And I thought I would have never have to make backups again ;)
kwyjibo··on We are like prisoners... We do not have a life, only work.
I thought it was about running a startup in the early days ;)
kwyjibo··on The Yahoo Firehose: Get access to our public Updates activity stream
Just wanted to add:

We at trendiction.com also provide a raw and filtered feed of different data (currently blog posts, blog comments, news posts, news comments, and message board posts).

But we restrict ourself to mainly german content right now. (there is already a lot to cover there)
