kvakerok··on The 'Dead Internet Theory'
I'm afraid you're right about the asshole-to-normal ratio and the implications of that worry me.
kvakerok··on Serious Sam handled massive amounts of enemies on 56k modem connections
Huh, it didn't do anything for me, I dodged it on the first jump and caught it mid-flight baseball bat style. The pack of sonic dogs was way worse. And the beaked hydra, with the constant metal drumming, ugh.
kvakerok··on Do you still count on your fingers?
Once you visualise a calculator in your head there's no need to count on fingers. But I've recently learned that there are people incapable of visualizing anything at all, so there's that.
kvakerok··on Serious Sam handled massive amounts of enemies on 56k modem connections
That's like one of the key selling features of the game. Great experience that also scars you for life.

They must've hard-coded something in recently, because I've got a permanent injection of scantily clad tiktok booty into my feed as well, and my account had no changes for years. I think they're just blanket applying it to all men now.

Friends also don't allow friends only CSV import of data, but here we are.
kvakerok··on My failed attempt at using a closet as an office
While this works for mental transition, if you have a spouse and kids, they're going to pretty much ignore this boundary. You'll have kids knocking on your door within minutes.
kvakerok··on Child labor in chocolate industry: 'It is worse than you may realize'
"The burden of a white man" - 2023 version.
kvakerok··on Threads Software Limited gives Meta 30 days to stop using the name Threads
Instagroom knows no shame.
kvakerok··on Child labor in chocolate industry: 'It is worse than you may realize'
So, I don't want to rain on your parades, guys, but what if child labor is the only alternative to extreme poverty or starvation for people in those countries?

As someone who immigrated from a country like that into 1st world I'm kind of torn about this. On one hand child labor is bad, on the other hand, starvation is worse. So now we block these kids from being able to make a living for themselves, or effectively force them to lie about their age.

kvakerok··on Gmail, Yahoo announce new 2024 authentication requirements for bulk senders
You can simply put two buttons on the email, one for unsubscribe, one for re-subscribe. If they unsub by accident they can simply pull the last email and re-sub. It's not rocket science.
kvakerok··on Algorithms you should know before you take system design interviews
That can be done by shuffling the resumes and dumping half of them in the garbage. Saves everyone time as well.
kvakerok··on Taking notes in mathematics lectures using LaTeX and Vim (2019)
I end up doodling, which I found helps my thought process immensely.
kvakerok··on Pfizer's oral Covid-19 antiviral cuts hospitalization, death by 85%
they're basically suing the original company who developed monoclonal therapy for COVID and are trying to copy it. This is the first copy.
