imagine for a moment how valuable new cars would be if you could restrict the supply of the used car market by mandatory recycling when the first owner buys a new vehicle.
Apple benefits significantly at least two ways;
1. Increasing overall demand for both new and used (unlocked) Mac Books by restricting supply.
2. Used unlocked Mac books will have a better resale value on the aftermarket thus continuing the folklore that Apple products retain their value for longer.
This begs the question… how much would a used Mac book cost if Activation Lock didn’t exist?
What is the true market price of a used Mac book? Or Apple Stock?

I when these conversations come up, I like to remind myself of the “stepping reflex” that new born infants exhibit.
“Stepping reflex: This reflex is also called the walking or dance reflex because a baby appears to take steps or dance when held upright with his or her feet touching a solid surface. This reflex lasts about 2 months.”

I agree that team conflict harms many companies, and is often cited as a common reason for startups failing.
However, I like to say starting a business is like raising a child, the child benefits from have two parents compared to one, But a village is even better.

The fed is assuming that inflation is being driven by wage increases.
Thus they raise rates to force employers to cut back on compensation and job openings.
How they do this with a clear conscience is beyond me.
Wage growth has lagged behind inflation, let alone productivity for 40+ years!
Inflation is caused by a lot of different factors, but wage growth doesn’t appear to be one of them.
If your job requires you to be somewhere physically, your compensation is tied to what it would cost to replace you.
In my experience employers rarely know what their Cost of Vacancy really is… let alone their Cost per Hire.
I expect this will change.
(It wasn’t exclusively in the USSR sphere of influence, but it was in their sphere of influence.)
That’s how the USA imported the Yugo!
