jacobbijani··on Photos of chickens, taken by chickens
Yea, this really only works because the camera itself can act as a card reader and USB device as well.

This type of thing may work, depending on what your goal is https://nerdtechy.com/best-wifi-sd-card

jacobbijani··on Introducing the new PHP on Heroku
It's great for quickly hosting a static site on Heroku. Just name your HTML file index.php!
jacobbijani··on DHH Ping Pong
The site says there will only be 5 "matches", so agreed: if the trial goes well you guys should consider expanding on this format.
jacobbijani··on On GitHub’s image proxy
I thought the "Always Free" badge was interesting. What is the business?
jacobbijani··on Cloudup acquired by Automattic
https://github.com/visionmedia, one of the most prolific node developers, works for cloudup.
jacobbijani··on Formance.js – Library for formatting and validating form fields
A few of them (phone number) break if you CMD-A to select all and start typing, to replace the entire value. It just deselects and appends rather than overwriting.
jacobbijani··on Fancy Input - CSS3 text typing effects for input fields
I got the "a" also from trying to do cmd+a to select all.
jacobbijani··on Site44 turns Dropbox folders into websites
Would that mean that a user on one of these sites could negatively impact the performance of the site by just refreshing it a bunch?
jacobbijani··on Amazon CTO: 'You should be able to walk away' from cloud providers
What about AWS import/export? You just ship them drives and they plug it in, charged by the hour.

jacobbijani··on Apple Never Designed the iPad - They Undesigned it
Agreed -- The iPad is already available in white, and IMO looks even nicer than the black one.
jacobbijani··on Apple Sucks At Social
Aren't all of Apple's social graphs tied to an iTunes login? At least they are consolidating them across their own network. But, I guess since I can't FaceTime my Game Center friends, that's not very useful...

Also, yes, I don't really care if Apple does social as I wouldn't want to invest in another network either. It seems though they are trying at it and failing, rather than just ignoring it.

jacobbijani··on Introducing HTML5
The code samples linked at the bottom have surprisingly poor formatting and indentation.
jacobbijani··on Resume.io - Crazy-simple online resumes with impression tracking.
heh, it uses a function that makes pronounceable (attractive) strings, but you're sort of right, it does sound like part of the name...

Nav bar only shows if you're viewing your own resumes.

Locking is pretty interesting! Almost like having Resume.io notarize that copy of it.

Planning on adding .pdf and .txt export support soon for sure.

Thanks!

You can fork a resume to a new URL and customize it for each job.

Interesting! Will look into those.

I'm working on adding relevant policy pages now. Building the site sounded more fun :)

Resumes are hidden until shared with people by giving them the URL. Everyone has a business card, which is public. I'm planning on making it so you can choose to have a resume replace your business card.

Here are mine:

Planning on adding custom domains soon! Only the default style for now, but adding more to choose from is certainly something on the roadmap.

jacobbijani··on Vimeo bans game videos
They started enforcing this 3 years ago. Now they offer an option other than deleting your account, it seems. http://vimeo.com/blog:140
jacobbijani··on Introducing Ixoth, Siri's little helper. Webhooks for Siri
I'm surprised you named a product designed to be spoken by name something so unpronounceable.
jacobbijani··on Who said Android apps can’t look good?
The margins are off.

jacobbijani··on Recreating OS X media keys on the command line
What do you mean trying? It does what it says in the title.
jacobbijani··on Twitter spam and motivation to report it
I'll still use the report as spam feature because it doubles as a block, which is the only way to make the tweet go away.
jacobbijani··on Facebook is “Peeping” into Your System
You know what else is bad form? Making such big assumptions about Facebook's intentions.
jacobbijani··on CSS only Lightbox
It's still a bunch of HTML the CSS is toggling though, right? I think in this case, adding Javascript to the mix is an advantage.

And why does everyone animate each part of the lightbox separately? It makes it so unbearably slow.

jacobbijani··on ITerm2 1.0 Released
You can hide the scrollbar. Preferences -> Appearance -> Check "Hide scrollbar and resize control"
jacobbijani··on Clever Names Aren’t Always a Good Thing
That isn't a clever name. It's a bad name.
