Regardless, I agree with your larger point that the proposed system would be entirely impractical!
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for more choices. But it seems like you have opinions on this topic and I'd like to hear them.

Incidentally, I just switched to Asahi Linux, but that was for software quality and openness reasons, rather than anything to do with performance.
I have issues with Freedom on my iPhone too. Poor signal, or else “good” signal but poor data backhaul.
Are you pretty sure your issues went away after going back to stock Android? Or is it possible it’s just Freedom Mobile’s general issues?

Last year, I moved from DigitalOcean to FullHost (their Vancouver datacentre) for hosting a small SaaS and a bunch of personal projects. It's cheaper and FAR better performance.
Up until this past November when I installed Asahi and haven’t looked back. It’s been tough work switching, but the writing’s been on the wall for a while now, so best get started.
Here is a delightful article from NYT from last year on this topic. Truly fascinating and bewildering.

This is delightful. Personal projects are a great place to buck the technical monoculture and try something unique. I really enjoyed reading this.
More weird stuff like this please.
Check out `man installer` for details.
There's also OVH which is French-owned (I think) but has some Canadian datacentres.
Personally I currently just use DDNS for stuff hosted on consumer connections (AKA home lab). And docker nginx-proxy to multiplex various self-hosted web apps (either in a home lab or on a VPS).
Here's my template:
I am a Canadian citizen in your riding (A1B 2C3) and multiple business owner in the technology sector.
As an expert in the field of electronics and information security, I am concerned about the ISED’s initiative to ban Flipper Zero and similar devices, announced at: https://www.canada.ca/en/public-safety-canada/news/2024/02/f...
The Flipper Zero is a general-purpose tool for engineering and information security research. By banning the device, we will be doing a disservice to our country’s practitioners in these fields, while doing little to thwart car thefts.
If possession of a device like Flipper Zero is the enabler for car theft, then it leads me to believe that such cars had negligently insecure encryption from the day they were manufactured, and a recall of such cars would be more appropriate.
A better contact is Dominic LeBlanc, and your local MP.
