I'm pretty sure there is an early scene in the movie Solar Crisis[1] that plays out similarly to what you're describing. This movie was on one of the cable movie channels when I was growing up, so I got a higher-than-normal dose of it.
I don't remember a cow, though (but then this probably isn't the only sci-fi movie out there with such a scene). I think one of the characters first parked a motorcycle in the road, but the truck plowed through it. After that, they stood in the road instead, and that caused the truck to screech to a stop right in front of them, blasting a message on a PA about how they were breaking the law by impeding it.
It's interesting you chose that specific boat given the dust-up between the trademark owner and the builders over the past year, and the recent controversy in the 2024 Olympic selection committee. I've only barely followed it, but at least some of the controversy seems to be about the lack of innovation in the class.
EDIT: clarity
Do you have a recommendation in this regard?
Anecdote time. Last year I bought an Anker power brick via Amazon, using the link on Anker's own website. When it arrived, instead of Anker's normal well-designed retail packaging, the brick was simply wrapped in bubble wrap, with a printed label stating that it was "new" and thrown into its shipping box. I inquired with Anker support about this, but they could only say that all their products they send to Amazon for distribution are in retail packaging. I did confirm that the item was purchased through the AnkerDirect seller, so I can only guess that it was either a returned item or that the retail packaging had been damaged, and someone at the Amazon warehouse repackaged it and put it back in the "new" bin. I ended up returning it for a refund. My trust of Amazon as a retail platform has been steadily eroding over the past few years, and this was just another reason to shop elsewhere.
One profile is for logging into various services I regularly use, one is dedicated to day-to-day surfing, one is for local development (there are no addons in this one), one is specifically for webmail, and one is specifically for Trello. Containers are most useful with the first two profiles...especially the first, so that the various services have some level of isolation.
EDIT: details, typos, etc
I used to have this script built as an app bundle via Platypus, but that stopped working somewhere between Yosemite and Mojave (likely due to increasingly strict OS file permissions or something). The Automator app doesn't seem to suffer from this issue...I think I just had to grant it a couple permissions the first time I ran it.
I wasn't able to figure out how to set a custom icon from within Automator, but it's not too hard to do if you're comfortable mucking around inside app bundles. The icon file is stored under <app-bundle-root>/Contents/Resources/, and its name (sans extension) is referenced in <app-bundle-root>/Info.plist.

Are you sure he didn't just leave that particular light unplugged?
There is a user.js project on github[1] maintained by ghacks.net community members that provides a source of documentation for many settings. It's also useful as a way to monitor new and deprecated settings.
Or alternatively, use a branch naming scheme that includes a little ticket metadata: "Merge branch 'feat_4714_default_tag_filter'"
After all you and your wife went through, this is the measure you've chosen to put into place? You state that Amazon cares more about making money than about "criminal behavior on their platform", so why* would you continue to support Amazon at all? Not to mention the fact that "Sold and shipped by Amazon" is meaningless given that they comingle their own inventory with that of third-party sellers. If you're buying supplements via Amazon, it's entirely plausible you're still directly supporting the sellers that drove your wife to shut down her business!
* EDIT: I suspect the answer to this question is "convenience." So the follow-up question is: at what point does your convenience become trumped by your principles?
I wonder, if they introduced a keyboard shortcut that cleared all formatting, would that be a reasonable compromise?
* move the cursor to 0,0
* hold shift and hit down-arrow twice to highlight the first two lines
* continue holding shift and hit left-arrow once to deselect the EOL on the second line
* use the keyboard shortcut for toggling code blocks (cmd-alt-shift-c)
awkward, but it works. :shrug:EDIT: formatting
I finally got around to installing iTerm2 this year. It's great, thanks to you (and to all contributors) for all your hard work! I will say, though, that while features like shell integration sound powerful, I personally choose to keep them disabled in order to minimize attack surface. It would be nice to be able to disable tmux integration as well for the same reason, given I don't use tmux.
