read the book "The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich"
Americas: Canada (English speaking, diversified society, encouraging entrepreneurship etc.)
Asia: Singapore, India, Indonesia, Philippines (all countries are english speaking for business)
Europe: any eastern Europe that has good weather and encouraging environment for start-ups.
Far East: Australia/ NewZealand (they have immigration policy, and fantastic weather)
Middle East: Abu-dhabi and Dubai (most happening place, no tax, you just need to find good geeks or import it from India).
Good Luck.
P.S: Find out everything about Australia and Canada - they both have immigration policy and temporary work visa policy ...
Passion will keep you going and huge market will make you some money (one day) if your product is good - and your product will be definitely good if you're passionate about it, it may take little longer though.
so you need a VC who can pay your license bill and a lawyer who can find you the legal way of doing this.
i have this old news piece that might help ...

anyway, if google focuses only on schools and universities then half the battle is won against MS as millions and millions of student will have their primary email from gmail and when they join the workforce they will automatically become a marketing tool for google to implement similar products in the companies.
EDIT: somehow you have to make an agreement with your partners (if possible do it legally) that if they decide to quit or if your partnership is dissolved then IP (code) remains with you (because originally the idea was yours) and in the future they cant do something similar either, i dont know whether it is completely enforceable legally but i dont think if any company (say goolge or yahoo or MS) will let me pursue the idea on my own that was originally not mine - so in the same way you can have an agreement or contract with your partners too.
anyway lets resolve the internal issue first. You need to find out what your partners really want, chances are they want/need something else than what it looks like from outside, find out what will motivate them to stay with your project?, also it is not clear whether they prefer to quit or they prefer to change the concept, may be they want to quit because you're not flexible enough to listen to them and change the concept - you need to really listen to them and think rationally (not emotionally) whether changing the concept will benefit all, try to create a win-win situation for all. last option is to let them go (because if they are not motivated enough then it won't produce the desired result) without burning the relationship, find the replacement at the earliest. If they are united and want to close the company then find out the legal way to hold on to the intellectual property at the minimum cost to you....
if they are your true friends then they should not give you hard-time in exploring either options. If you really love your project then you have to be very firm though in a polite way so that they can figure it out that you're really serious to pursue your ambition and nothing can change your route (with or without their help) - may be they will change their mind after seeing your determination.
so for example if i make a comment that doesn't make sense then nobody will up-vote me (and nobody can down-vote me either as there is no option to do that either) and i will end-up having lowest score (which is 1) compare to others. also down-vote de-motivates more than no-vote... so why de-motivate someone.
i hope i explained in simplistic way...
OR
it would be best if you have 2 years of training followed by 2 years of employment and that makes 4 years of degree.
2. it will cost a fortune to change the infrastructure in a corporation who are used to RIM,
3. even if they plan to change the infrastructure, the decision making (bureaucracy)and getting everything tested and setting up new tech support structure will at least take a year or two.
4. RIM is coming with new models (this summer) - which may surprisingly come with amazing features. Also their new product cycle is getting shorter and shorter with new design and easy usability.
5. lack of physical keyboard is a topic of concern for power users - executives dont have time to learn new way of typing.
6. RIM has a huge market share due to its availability with multiple service providers - apple's biggest weakness is its exclusivity with at&t and this may make them to regret in long term.
7. RIM may surprise everyone by having some exclusive tie-up with service providers, for example free VOIP calls within north america - they will still make money out of data plans though but something like this will have huge impact on competitors business models.
Conclusion: Don Reisinger, STOP dreaming !
