My name is Mark Steyn, and that is the Steyn Paradox.
I've never squeezed more than 4 or 5 hours out of my two year old Macbook Pro. A 20 hour battery life in addition to the speed gains make upgrading a tempting prospect.
Vastly happier now.
It seemed impossibly distant once. Not now.
Last month I walked around Greenwich Park in London 125 times, each time following exactly the same route. I thought about that polar bear a lot as I walked.
'So how does boost work in this case? Put simply, the PlayStation 5 is given a set power budget tied to the thermal limits of the cooling assembly. "It's a completely different paradigm," says Cerny. "Rather than running at constant frequency and letting the power vary based on the workload, we run at essentially constant power and let the frequency vary based on the workload."'

Books are lovely physical objects, but the convenience of carrying a library with me at all times far outweighs any sentimentality I have.
(but yes, I know it's still using webkit behind the scenes)
Being better than Facebook doesn't mean just replicating its technology, it means having a better social graph.
That's a hard problem to solve.
I'm not depressed, or ill. All my parts function. It's just that I'm not sexually attracted to anyone.
I'm still perfectly capable of having, and enjoying, sex, but it's been a long time now. Even before I realised I was asexual, I was still aware of an asymmetry in what was going on, that I wasn't experiencing things in quite the same was as my partner.
I still like the idea of love and partnership, but I've let this get in the way of my finding it.
That's such an important distinction. It's true that an actor's appearance is one of their most memorable traits, but its not the sum of their accomplishments. Acting is a skill.
I'm not and never have been an actor, but I was impressed with Wil Wheaton, when he detailed on his blog how he prepared for auditions, the choices he would make about how to approach a particular scene. That level of thought, and experience will be lost forever when an actor dies.
With technology, we may see the likeness of a particular actor again, but we'll never again see their particular like.
I gave up my Kindle as soon as 5 inch displays were available. I thought the market would have made more progress by now.
