hudell··on Facebook Reactions
Even when Zuckerberg said that, I think he had made clear that he wanted something for the situations where "liking" is not appropriate. I still think that ignoring is much better than disliking.
hudell··on Boredom is not a problem to be solved, it's the privilege of a free mind
As someone who was bored 90% of the time as a kid and who's still bored quite often, I really believe that it would be better not to be.
hudell··on Is “Huh?” a Universal Word? (2013)
We actually say both "ahn?" and "hein?". Sometimes we also use "hein" to start a sentence (usually when you are repeating a question)
hudell··on Is “Huh?” a Universal Word? (2013)
"né" is short for "não é?" which means "isn't it?"
hudell··on Is “Huh?” a Universal Word? (2013)
In portuguese, that word would be "né?", or "ahn?" in a different context.
hudell··on Show HN: Hacker News Simulator
"I miss Google wave invites going for $26 a month" I forgot I was on the simulator and was interested in reading this.
hudell··on My favorite interview question
It's common in Brazil too, but with the exception of companies who abuse it to hire temp people every 3 months, you won't lose your job unless you give a reason to be fired.
hudell··on “This story is being previewed exclusively on Apple News until Tuesday”
Well, I've seen a bigger website change their layout completely believing it would increase ad impressions, assuming that users scrolled down on their page. It went live, their profit was reduced to less than half, thousands of people lost their job. The new layout stayed.

My favorite: > Samsung vows counter-action over Apple Maps flaw results in anti-depressant-like behavior in mice
hudell··on Show HN: Human-readable index of Brazilian Government expenses
Nice :)
hudell··on Why WhatsApp Only Needs 50 Engineers for Its 900M Users
I'll never understand why so many people prefered WhatsApp over anything that already existed previously and even worked better.
hudell··on Real Programmers Don't Use PASCAL (1982)
Delphi is great and powerful, but it was so easy that a lot of people did bad things with it, ruining it's name.
hudell··on Apple Unveils the iPad Pro
The pen on Samsung's Galaxy Note was great
hudell··on The xkcd survey
It didn't let me submit without checking one.
hudell··on The xkcd survey
can it really be considered random if you discarded all of the first words you thought of?
hudell··on The xkcd survey
"type five random words here"
hudell··on The xkcd survey
"Which of these can you do reasonably well?"

Should really have a "none" option.

hudell··on Windows 10 Free Upgrade Available in 190 Countries Today
Yes, every other windows update I had before either: a) Failed on the first try b) Deleted files/software

Windows 10 was the first time I didn't lose anything (except the games that stopped working)

hudell··on Windows 10 Free Upgrade Available in 190 Countries Today
The update only froze once for me (had to hard reset). No side effects from that. This was the smoothest windows update process I've ever had.

Had some trouble with Asus touchpad drivers, but after fixing that, everything is running well and nothing was lost. All previously installed software seems to be running fine.

hudell··on Firefox makes click-to-activate Flash the default
I know HTML5 doesn't have all of Flash features, but as a user, I'm glad that I won't see random pages using flash without need.
hudell··on Monopoly Man – the same image uploaded to Imgur 3.2M times?
That was actually the first image I got when trying 5 random characters on an URL.
hudell··on Ask HN: Have you ever been contacted to sell your user's information?
Back on my first job, a small company wanted to use our software, but only if we copied their competitor's database (Their competitor was already our client)
hudell··on Show HN: Bear CMS – A new, much better way to build websites
Well... that picture doesn't say anything.
hudell··on Warner Bros Suspends Sales of Batman: Arkham Knight PC Version
I was in mobile and I found no way to close that modal.
hudell··on Ask HN: Do you work with dogmatic, stubborn developers/sysadmins? Are YOU one?
That part about "Human relationships" was odd, but I think OP was talking about people who get aggressive when confronted.

Also: There are people out there who have used a language, a tool, a framework or anything like that and thought: "Wow, this is good". And from that day on, started to fight to use it for everything.

hudell··on Who'll be the next president – Google Search
It's funny that the first result is now a link to this post on Hacker News.
hudell··on John Nash Has Died
I've heard of people treating that as an insult, but I've had the opposite experience: I've had taxy drivers asking me to use the seatbelt when I forgot to.
hudell··on I was an undercover Uber driver
offtopic, but that website kept refreshing over and over, it was hard to read on mobile
hudell··on College Is (Almost) Obsolete
or that the kid should decide by himself and find it's own way to pay for college
