Robots will catch up. The future of TVs is now!
People live directly off of highways. So highways should be 25 mph? 30mph?
On one hand having another child or more children could be comforting, but I think you are more likely to make that child’s life much harder and sadder, which would add more guilt. It’s all around *ucking awful and terrifying.
I literally can’t imagine how hard it is on parent’s whose kids are actually sick, suffering so badly, and then may end up dying. I don’t know...I’m not sure I’m made of stuff strong enough to deal with that.
I’m going to have to disagree with you here.
Nothing on earth scares me more than the idea of having to go on living without one of them. Having 4 increases my odds that I might have to. It terrifies me on a daily basis! Yay, Parenthood!
I can’t watch movies that involve kids being sick, hurt, etc. which is fine,,,,not the reason I watch movies, but I literally cannot. I will turn off the tv or leave the room. I’m a giant baby, basically!
We also built a component/style library that allows us to make responsive designs into web and mobile apps quickly and easily. Gluestick also allows easy creation of native apps (native/react native/web views) with 90+% code sharing. We also added a bunch of features (regex based routing, etc) to help with seo. We do all of this from our single framework based on react.
We had a lot of front end 'frameworks' in use and no consistency. Now we do. It's been a lot of work, but for us totally worth it.
We also have done a bunch of optimizations to make react fast, including how we handle webviews in a react native/native app. It's seamless. I'd like to link a video, but proprietary work that isn't done...blah blah blah, company secrets, blah blah blah. We will be releasing another blog post, detailing all the native enhancements soon.
I have 4 boys all healthy and a decent career. It's gone well for me, but there were scary parts...it increased the personal stress a lot in times like when my start-up/s failed.
It never hampered my ambition though. My wife and I are a team. We've spent 6 months plus apart as I pursued start-ups in Texas and during YC. I've never looked at my family as holding me back in any way.
As someone who has been an engineer at all levels and now an exec at a public company, I rarely give counter offers in this situation. I think there are some cases where it can work, but in most cases; if someone wants to leave, you wish them the best and move on.
